'Toy Story 3' Scrapped

Pixar and Disney have announced they have cancelled plans to make a third installment of the popular Toy Story movies. Studio executives decided the script wasn't up to the standard the previous movies had set and didn't want to make the film with a less than stellar storyline, according to Moviehole.net. The third installment would have featured animated toy astronaut Buzz Lightyear getting recalled to Taiwan after a series of malfunctions.

It's a shame but I guess it would have been a shame if the film had been poor. They would still have made $$$$$ from it though!

Although I would have probably added the DVd to the collection I'm glad if they start making quality decisions rather than $$$ decisions

The Walt Disney Co. will scrap production of the latest "Toy Story" sequel and hand the project over to Pixar Animation Studios Inc. as part of its deal to acquire Pixar, sources familiar with the situation said on Thursday.


Looks like we'll get to see Toy Story 3 after all

all my fingers are crossed for at ts3, i have 3 boys and we have followed buzz and woody for years and have been waiting so long in hopes of a

Yes they could have just put it out and made lots of money.

But they took the high road and said wait if it's not up to standards lets wait until it is.They didn't say it wasn't going to happen just not now in its' present form.

I have just read that they are to scrap the film for the moment. However, another subscriber Carolfoy says we will have to make do with their breakfast. Can anyone confirm if toy story is having a character breakfast, and, if so where?

Its not confirmed yet Martin, but rumoured to be announced on March 1 (there's a thread dedicated to it on the restaurant board) its highly possible to be a toy story or pixar breakkie in MGM, I'll keep watching the thread and let you know when its certain.

I heard about that during my "dark ages" i.e. time without laptop. I am glad they did scrap it; it looked like a really bad sequel.
