With the upcoming release of Toy Story 3, I wonder if anything new and special will make and appearance? Our trip is 1 month after the release and we're hoping to see TS3 represented in a fun way as we all love TS in our house. Maybe the return of Woody and Jessie to the Celebration Ranch BBQ (I think that's what it's called). We've never visited the parks so close to a big movie release and just wondering if they typically do anything special.

I don't know the answer but it's a good question - we are going about the same time as you and would also like to know. What is the release date again in the States? I know it's June sometime. It only comes out in the UK after we come home so would also like to see the movie whilst we are there

There is a new game inside the Toy Story Midway Mania ride in DCA - called Dino Darts. Lotso from TS3 is now part of the Pixar Play Parade, and I assume will be around for photo ops. Next year - in early Spring - comes the new Toy Story musical to DCA, which will replace the existing Aladdin musical.

Toy Story has a really strong presence in both parks - I am actually surprised that Disney has devoted so much space to Toy Story in favor of other beloved stories, but I must admit I love it! I love Toy Story! I wish there were a whole Toy Story-themed land. But they have the Buzz Lightyear ride in Tomorrowland, TSMM in DCA, the upcoming Toy Story musical - and Woody, Jessie and Bullseye even make an appearance in It's a Small World!! That's a lot of Toy Story! Not to mention the fact that Woody usually hangs around the Halloween Round-Up during the Halloweentime season and appears at the Trick or Treat Party too.

I would guess you'll see posters out and about the DLR resort promoting TS3.

There is a lot of Toy Story merchandise around both parks right now, and some high-profile posters and window merchandising.

The Toy Story parking lot shuttles guests to the parks on Toy Story buses.

Woody and Jessie are often by BTMRR, sometimes separately and sometimes together. I've also seen them separately at DCA by TSMM.

We're Toy Story fans too, and love to see it all over DLR!

A couple of weeks ago they announced that that Aladdin will be staying for now.

Although “Toy Story – The Musical” was scheduled to move into Hyperion Theater following Genie’s last bow, Buzz, Woody and their pals will stay focused on the new additions in Toy Story Mania…for now.

Yes - I know Aladdin is staying past August. I heard that as well. But I am sure Toy Story is still coming next year. Spring is a long, long way off. I don't think Disney would scrap that plan for the Toy Story musical entirely. All they are doing is extending Aladdin beyond the initial planned closing time.

I respectfully disagree. I think they ARE scrapping it entirely, because it's received less than stellar reviews on the Wonder and because they underestimated the popularity of Aladdin. I think they're only telling half the story ("guest demand").

Of course, none of this matters, because OP's trip is in July. :lmao:

Do check out TSMM, they've added lots of little TS3 details PLUS the new Dino Darts game. Aim for the lava. :rotfl:
