Towns at FL state line

Can anyone tell me what some of the towns are right around the FL state line driving from GA? If I am correct, that is about 3 hours from WDW, right? Looking to stay the night there, just wanted to know what hotels were around.

In order:

Lake City 2.5 hours from Disney

Gainesville 2 hours

Ocala 1.5 hours

The largest of the towns in south Georgia is Valdosta. Lots of hotels there.

Right at the state line is Lake Park with some of the chain hotels there.

First exit continuing south is Jennings, Florida followed by Jasper, Florida. Both exits have some of the chains.

The previously mentioned Lake City (particularly at the US 90 exit) has a lot of name brand motels.

State line to Orlando is indeed about 3 hours. Lake City is closer of course, about 2-1/4 hours.

Gasoliine is cheaper in Georgia so fill up there.

In my opinion the best place to spend the night is in Valdosta. Just like BobK mentioned there are a lot of hotels off there and there are a lot of places to eat. When driving south on I-75 my family and I take 2 and a half days to arrive in WDW, so on our 2nd full day of driving we spend the night in Valdosta Georiga. In the past we always stayed at the Hampton-Inn off exit 18, however last year we stayed at the Hampton-Inn & Suites off exit 16 and because we liked it so much we are staying there again.

Thanks for the responses - I should have probably been a little clearer. We will be taking I95 down, so I was thinking somewhere right off there. Would Kingsland be a good choice?

Kingsland has plenty to chose from. I would stick to exit 3.

You could also drive a little bit more to North Jacksonville (about 15-20 minutes) and stay near the airport (and the Budweiser Brewery)

Again, a lot of places there too!

JAX airport area is the first real town you will see entering Florida. If you care to drive another 30-45 minutes you can get to the St. Augustine area with many motels and outlet malls.
