Hey there! :wave2:

I live in FL and am actually flying out of Orlando to go up north for Thanksgiving thanks to a great rate we got on U.S.A.3000 airlines and I thought where better to find out the answer to these questions :chat: than on the Disboards since I frequent these boards so often :goodvibes And who better would know the answers ;)

First, I booked a towncar to get us to and from the airport. We live an hour and a half from there and there are 4 of us...1 of who will still be in a carseat if that makes any difference at all:scratchin They told me how much it will cost but of course you need to add the gratuity...question is...do you tip a percentage of what the ride cost? or do you tip so much $$ per peices of luggage ?? is there another method??

My 2nd question is on the airline. I did go ahead an book on this airline as my mom knows someone who has flown them and will even be flying on them again next month. But....I had never heard of them before recently finding and booking this flight at this awesome rate ($59 from OIA to Newark). Have any of you taken them and can tell me about this airline? Especially good things lol :teeth: :rolleyes1 I'm sure since my mom's friend takes them and recommends them, that everything will be fine but it's always nice to hear more and more good things ::yes::

TIA for any info. I much appreciate it ::yes:: :flower3:

NIA is a zoo during the T-DAY holidays. I haven't flown USA300 and the rate is fantastic. But you might want to research this a little more especially if you have little ones.
Jet Blue annouce this month a start up at NIA and started a price war. I don't know how many planes USA300 will run out of NIA, but if theres a problem you could have a nasty experience during the T-Day. Check for other feedback on the boards. The hoildays are a tough time to travel. Hope this helps. Good Luck

When we get a towncar, I tip approximately 20% of the total but split that in half for each leg. We have a car for our upcoming trip. The cost is $80 roundtrip. If we don't stop for groceries, I will give our driver $10 when we get dropped off at OKW ($15 if we have a grocery stop). He will also receive the price of the towncar, $80. They will schedule your pickup for the return to the airport at this time. When we are dropped off to come back home, I give that driver a $10 tip.

I flew on USA3000 last summer and LOVED it! We got a real meal and a movie! I had never heard of them either, until one of the women who went on this trip, told the rest of us. They had great airfare. The only negative is they don't fly every day and only have one or two flights a day. Hopefully, if they become more popular, that will change.

Wow Thanks Dopey Sharon! :flower: That makes me feel better that you flew this airline and loved them too!! ::yes:: ::yes:: Our fare going to the airport will be $90 and coming home will be $85 but it takes an hour and a half to get to OIA from here (I'm a half hour north of Daytona Beach). So then does $20 as a tip each way sound reasonable?? or more like $25? I just want to make sure we tip properly :rolleyes1

spotowner...thanks for the input but we've already booked. I guess I'm just looking for a little reasurrance that this is a good airline. I did hear about Jetblue starting to fly out of Newark ....they don't start until Oct.5 and they as well as most of the airlines I checked block out Thanksgiving :sad1: They all seem to be having these great sales (many were $139 round trip) but the sales were going from Sept.6 until Nov.21 and then block out Thanksgiving week and then would start again on Nov.29 until Dec.14. From what my mom's friend told her, this U.S.A.3000 airlines does there sales differently. They apparently sell so many seats at say $59 (which we paid) and then the next 25 seats at $69 and the next 25 seats at $79 until their top price and the plane is full :scratchin And I guess they do this all the time so need for sales...they just always work it that way from what I understand. And I'm fully aware that Newark will be a zoo....it usually is even when not a holiday. That part I'm actully dreading :scared: but I'm going to hope and pray for the best. It will be me,dh and my 2 kids so at least I'm not traveling alone with my kids. Dh will be there :upsidedow It will hopefully be worth it since we don't get to go up to visit very often and we'll have a new little neice to meet and spend the holiday with the family. Since we moved here, and now we live in the vacation state, they usually come to us....esp. since we live within driving distance of WDW :jumping1:

Thanks for the input!! I truely appreciate it ::yes::

I would tip the driver $20 on each leg. I think the "rule of thumb" is 20%, so you're going over a little.

If you didn't already, call and get your seating assignments. You can't do it over the internet, you have to call.

Have a great trip! :)

And congratulations on your weight loss! That's great! :)
