Town Cars that do free grocery stops?

Does anyone know which Town Car services do free grocery stops? (30 minutes I think is what I heard from one Town Car company) Which grocery stores are eligible for this service? Are there any relatively cheap grocery stores available to go to on a free grocery stop?

Trying to figure out if I'd be better off financially doing a grocery stop or getting it delivered from a service. Thanks!

I believe that most, if not all, the towncars offer a free grocery stop. We used Prestige Town Cars last June and the driver stopped at a Publix, which is a big supermarket. We loaded up on soda, water, and beer and saved a fortune over WDW resort prices. There are any number of places you can shop, but from what I have read some are pretty expensive (I think something like Goodings has high prices). The Publix seemed really close to our Disney resort (Boardwalk).
Prestige merged with Tiffany Town Cars at about the same time we used them. Great service and would definitely use them again. Their prices last June were better than most and had a $5.00 coupon for booking online. I don't know if they still operate as two separate companies. FL Tours, which is the sponsor of this board, also offers a grocery stop. Personally I don't know of any companies who do charge for the stop. Some may only give you 15 minutes, but I am not certain. Our driver didn't care how long we took, although we tried to get out fast so we would not delay him from other runs.

Lorden Transportation who merged with Golden Limo will. I've used them many times and always been happy.

The least expensive place to buy groceries in this area is generally Super Wal-Mart, but most car services won't stop there because it takes longer than half an hour to get in and out. If you have a choice, ask for Publix, they have decent prices and the best produce and selection. Winn-Dixie is skeevy and expensive, Kash-N-Karry is about the same price wise as Publix but I do'nt like their produce or the layout of their stores.

I'll second the recommendation for Tiffany Town Car. We used them twice so far and they were great. Very friendly and had the grocery stop.

I have used Sunray transportation twice. They are great. They do the free 30 minute grocery stop at the Publix. Round trip from MCO to any Disney resort is $90, but they do offer discounts.

We have had the best luck with Tiffany. They do a free stop but you mut let them know at booking. We also request Goodings instead of Publix. Some say it is more expensive then Publix but it is the same prices as around my way and I think Goodings is cleaner and has more of a selection even though we only buy water and Pepsi there! LOL!

Most of the towncar services only offer a free grocery stop with round trip transfers. A delivery service like weboshop will cost you less.

One of the services suggests you use Albetson's, they let you fax ahead your order. I don't know anything about the store.

Ducklite--I thought Kash N Carry closed all (most?) of their Orlando stores. I know they closed the stores the towncar companies used. They may have one near where you live, is that on the way from MCO to WDW?

Ah, you're right. I keep forgetting they closed the one off the Greenway because the one near me is still open.

Sorry I couldn't get my cut and paste to work but Florida Tours web site shows a $10 charge for each of the following:

Pickups between midnight and 6 AM

car seat

30 minute grocery stop

What is your opinion of Albertson's? The fax ahead feature makes it popular with some of the towncar companies.

For others reading this thread the Hess mini-mart has great prices on soda, bottled water and "fun foods". You can take the DTD to the PI stop and walk.

To avoid confusion FL Tours, a board sponsor, offers a free grocery stop

Our Price Includes:
Grocery or gift stop
No charge for late pickups

I'm not sure if Florida Tours is a different company or if you're mistaken.

I'll be honest, I haven't shopped at one in years, because there aren't any near me, but the last time I was in one it was OK. I still prefer Publix, I think they are the cleanest (to the poster above who thought Goodings was cleaner than Publix :rotfl2: ) and they've got good selections and decent prices. They aren't as cheap as Wal-Mart, but frankly I'll spend a couple extra dollars a week to have a clean uncrowded, well organized store with employees who are polite and helpful. (And they are a good company to work for and they take care of their employees, as opposed to Wal-Mart, that in itself is a reason to support them.)

The Super Wal-Mart near me is brand new and people are already complaining about it being dirty and crowded, and their trucks are constantly being ticketed for equipment violations by FLDOT along the Route 27 corridor.

Anyhow, I'm nuetral on Albertsons. I don't recall them being good or bad, just a pretty generic grocery store.

I'm the one that thinks Goodings is cleaner. I have been to Publix enough to see a roach here and there walking along the edge of the floors. Ick... Never see that in Goodings. Did you catch the Prime Time show last month? It rated the Publix that the towncars stop at as in the top 10 worse stores they tested. It weas gross what goes on behind the walls in that place. Thanks, but I'll stick with Goodings. LOL!

I didn't see that. Maybe that particular store is a bad apple, but I'll tell you, everyone that I've ever been in has been spotless.

Maybe that one is a bad apple. I only have experience at that one. We don't have those around me so I don't know. I had always heard how great they are but was surprised to see that one is such bad shape. Maybe all us tourists have ruined it! LOL!

No offense to tourists, but there is a direct corelation to how nice/clean a market is and how close/far it is from a tourist area.

I noticed this even when I was a "tourist" and we were out driving around looking for a home to buy/build. WHen we would stop in a residential area the markets were generally much nicer--and often lower priced.
