What are the pro's / con's of the various towers? I'm booked in a deluxe room which I think just means a pool view (?) Didn't know if there was a particular tower I should request. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

The Fantasy Tower has the pool room on one side (deluxe view) and the parking lot / fireworks view on the standard view side. This tower has the check-in lobby and gift shops.

The Adventure Tower has view rooms on both sides--either Downtown Disney or the pool. It's the closest to the parks.

The Frontier Tower is the furthest walk to the parks (but hey, what's a few more minutes?). I've never stayed in this tower, so I don't have much to add.

As with most questions posted on this site, you'll hear a lot of different opinions on which tower is best. I love the DL Hotel--I'm sure you'll be fine no matter which view room you get. Have a great stay!

We have stayed in all three towers, from the upper floors, to the lower floors, and both sides. We prefer the pool view overwhelmingly! The Concierge rooms are very nice and of course come with all the extras(the wife prefers this). Of course, others will prefer the downtown Disney view.

For us, with a 3.5yr old, the Fantasy Tower was great. Pretty much any time we left or came back during the day, we would see a character in the lobby with only waiting a couple minutes for a photo.

Plus, we had the parking lot view which I was a bit disappointed with at first. But on the first night when I realized that we could see the fireworks while lying in bed (the toddler was already passed out cold so otherwise we would have missed it) I was sold. And then when we got to watch them for a second night in bed, well I really appreciated the view.

We've stayed in Frontier in a premium view room on the 11th floor (free upgrade from standard) and in Adventure in a deluxe on the 3rd floor. In Frontier, we were on the corner and had a view of both the fire works and the pool. The wifi worked really well from there. In Adventure, we had a view of the pool and Trader Sam's. I think we were on the lowest floor for Deluxe in that tower. Therer were trees on either side of our room, so I think the rooms next to us were probably standard view. I asked for DTD view at check in, and she said they don't have deluxe DTD views in Adventure tower, they only face the pool (and I had requested Adventure.) The wifi didn't work at all in adventure, probably because we were across from the bar. It worked at 6am, but none of the other times we tried it. I loved the location of the adventure tower, since the pool and DTD were just steps away. I was worried that it would be noisy in that tower because on DTD entertainment, but we were on the pool side so we didn't hear any noise.

Frontier all the way! For less bustle, easy access to Trader Sam's, the pool slides, and the outdoor hearth, and the amazing Big Thunder model in the lobby. Just feels more secluded and sedate--in a good way--than the other towers.

Love the Big Thunder model in Frontier Tower.

Love the Jungle Cruise moquettes in Adventure Tower and the easy access to Downtown Disney.

But my favorite stay has been in the Fantasy Tower. We paid for a standard room but got a free upgrade to Deluxe - the view of the pool was awesome. It was so much fun.

What would be the best way to request a certain building?
I won a trip to Disneyland and we will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel
We have been to WDW several time but this will be our first trip to Disneyland and we are over the moon excited:dance3:

Any recommendations?

We love the Adventure Tower! We've had pool views and it's quite nice.
Easy access to lobby and out to Downtown Disney.
