tower of terror?

Our family vacation is the week when this opens. Was this stupid? do you think that it's going to make for a terrible crowded vacation? Maybe I should plan on going to California adventure on monday since it opens on tuesday.
I am pregnant and my kids arn't old enough to go on this and my dh has no interest.

I am sure it will make BOTH PARKS more crowded but don't let it ruin your fun.

not sure what it'll do to overall crowding ... Hollywood Backlot WILL be more crowded once ToT officially opens.

So you might be better off hitting DCA the day before ToT is officially opened ... but keep in mind that even before it officially opens, there will be "sneak peek" or "soft openings" of ToT, so the Backlot area might still be crowded.

how early do you "think" the soft openings will start? I know at Epcot, Mission Space soft openings were done MONTHS in advance of the stated official opening. I rode it in the 1st week of Sept., the official opening was mid Oct. and I read that other people rode it even earlier. Do you think that may be the case with TOT? We are coming in March, and that would be a thrill. We LOVE TOT at MGM.

I know ToT is opening in May, but I haven't heard what specific day. Would you mind telling me?

Tower officially opens on May 4th, 2004. But I would expect soft openings between now and then, as well as the "tower of terror" event April 21/22.

Any hope for soft openings of Tower of Terror next week? How do you participate in a soft opening? Is it just luck, or are there some "tricks of the trade"?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What is the "tower of terror" event on April 21/22? My family's first day there will be the 21st of April and I want to anticipate any bigger than norm crowds.

However, on the flip side, my wife and I love TOT from WDW and am really hoping that we will be able to ride this while we are there. My wife is not usually too big on "thrill" rides, but loves this one.

Actually Official opening has beeen bumped to May 5th.
Same day as a big media event in DL to announce the 50th Anniversary (set for 05/05/05)

Looks like the TOT will be open for those who bought the pricey pkg deal.. but you never know when they might have limited soft openings
