Tower of terror

This ride terrifies me! :) The one and only time I went on it, I was so scared I couldn't even scream during the drops...I just held tight to DH's arm and kept telling myself, It's almost over, it's almost over.

I did like the pre-show and the lobby and stuff. DD12 wants to ride it when we go back (she was too little last time) so I guess I will ride it again with her, but I dread it. I just don't like that free fall feeling I guess.

I agree. It's a love-hate relationship with me. Love the special affects and theme--hate all of that dropping.

"Never the same fear twice"

I remember when that was their slogan, my DS had finally worked up the courage to go on it and was so scared but then so proud because he did it and I didn't! Finally two years ago and on our 6th trip to WDW I did it! I was so scared! :scared1: I was only with DH when I did it so for my upcoming trip the kids can't wait to ride it with me... great :rolleyes2

I love this ride, it's one of my favourites

My favorite ride in all of WDW. The theming, the way it immerses you into the story, the way the cars move up and down and forward and around before settling into the drop chute, and last but not least the thrills of the random drop sequences on each ride.

We have a FP for it for our trip next week and we are all still debating if we are going to go on it :) LOL we are kinda wimpy :)

OMG! I hate this ride! LOL! DH and I rode it for the first time in 2007. I went into thinking it would be a piece of cake. I love roller coasters and stuff, I wasn't scared. HOLY CRAP! I screamed like a little girl!!! I swore I'd never get on it again. But of course, when we went in 2012 my oldest DD wanted to ride it. So, she taunted momma because I said I was too scared to get on it again. I sucked it up, and tried again. I freaking cried!! LOL! The picture from the ride is so funny! I'm screaming and crying. hehehe I guess it's just the randomness and you don't know when it's going to drop you, and when you are screaming because you've had enough, they keep doing it again and again.

See I just can't do this ride.

Everyone else in my family loves it. They want to ride it over and over again all day long. I do like the theming, I just can't handle the ride.

The problem is it is just physically painful to me. I literally feel like my insides are being ripped apart, and the pain will bring tears to my eyes. I just can't handle it, and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. It doesn't make me motion sick or anything. It just hurts. All I can think about while I'm on it is that I want it to stop, so the pain will stop. I can't enjoy it at all.

I don't know what it is about TOT that causes this pain. I can do drop rides at other amusement parks just fine, no pain. The only thing I can think of is that there is no over the shoulder harness like other drop rides have, and I'm pretty sure you aren't actually falling with gravity but are being pulled down. Maybe that's the problem.

Has anyone ever experienced this? I feel like I'm the only one. Everyone just always goes on about how much fun it is, and no one else in my family experiences any pain, and they all big babies when it comes to that. Maybe my insides are broken or something.

It's DD(10)'a favorite ride at WDW too! Last month we rode it three times in a row, fortunately with no wait thanks to a combination of RD and FP+. She would have been happy to keep riding all day though. She loves both the creepy theme and the dropping part.

My boys both were 4 when they rode it. I was 37! Personally, I have no reason to ride it again, they were ready to go right back on. Dh will not ride with them and I'll relax with a Mickey bar.
