Seeking advice and opinions from as many sources as I can. Got a ToT FP for 4pm on our studios day. Originally the plan was this: Toy Story EMM, do our fastpasses, some star wars stuff, and maybe Indiana Jones. Ideally we'd be done by noon or 1 then hop to Epcot. We planned to return after dinner for Fantasmic. Unfortunately the earliest time I could get ToT was 4pm. So here are my options, what would you do?

1) Keep the 4pm and stay at the studios all day (some potential for a 4th FP before Fantasmic but we'd have more time to fill than originally thought and anything we did would be just that--a time filler)

2) Switch the FP to a later time and ride after dinner when we come back to the park (ablility to spend more time in Epcot but lose any chance of a 4th FP)

This is my fiance's first time going and I know there are shows and things to see and do in HS but I'm not sure that those things would appeal to him as much (Little Mermaid, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, etc.) Please give me any input and suggestions!

What are your other 2 fastpasses for and what would you hope to get as a 4th FP? Any chance of losing steam before Fantasmic? That would be a long day with EMM, but if you are high energy, do not have kids, have meals planned, and are not going in the heat of the summer, I can see this being doable. If you are ok with a non-headliner as the 4th fastpass, option 1. You will likely hit long lines over at Epcot for the headliners without fastpasses. I would prefer to have at least the option of picking up fastpasses at Epcot. I personally would do option 1, and I would keep spamming MDE to try to change ToT to an earlier time, or I would rope drop ToT after EMM so I could use fastpasses at Epcot later.

Can you keep trying to refresh to an earlier time and if you can, move to Epcot after you're done?
I definitely will but I don't know if I'll have any luck until day or week of, at which point I won't have an option for a later reservation just sitting there. So I guess I need a fall back plan haha.

Since we are doing EMM I have Star Tours and RNR. I just like to keep my options open for 4th FP as you never know what you'll get. Ideally I would've liked maybe a FP in Epcot but if we go we'll likely just roam World Showcase.

I would head over to ToT at the end of EMM to beat the RD crowd.

Can you actually beat the rope drop crowd coming from EMM or are you just joining the crowd?

Or even worse, are you held back from joining the rope drop crowd like it used to be with EMM at MK and Space Mountain at rope drop?

I would rope drop ToT once the park officially opens, then go eat breakfast. Most people will be headed to SDD.

If you're able to rope drop ToT, you can drop your third FP and try to get a FP for Epcot while you're still at DHS.

But, with TOT at half capacity, is this the current situation? I've been seeing wait times over 60 minutes at 915am for TOT.

I stopped paying attention to the posts in the EMM thread, but since 90% of the RD people are heading to TSL I think there are good odds.

I think most people are still heading to SDD. The problem with ToT's reduced capacity is that the line builds much faster than expected. And if ToT is down at rope drop, the plan won't work at all. Which is why I wouldn't drop the FP until the OP actually rides ToT.

We did EMM on Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day) - we headed out of TSL and when we got to ToT at 9:05, the posted wait time was 95 minutes. We had decided to do Rock n Roller Coaster instead anyway, which was posted at 45 and was actually about 20, so I can't tell you what the actual wait time for ToT was. We could've skipped our last SDD ride and gotten there early, as can you, but with the reduced capacity, the ToT line seems to build very quickly.

I'd move the FP for TOT to the after dinner slot but continue to look for an earlier time. That way if none of your other options work out, you still have the FP for later

With our recent 3-night stays, we've also have a similar issues with our ToT afternoon time. I would keep the 4 pm TOT and *if* able to ride it after EMM on standby, then switch it to something else or cancel it and go to Epcot. If not, just hang out until ToT time because that will be better than a super long standby line. I think the chances of being able to move it up with the reduced capacity are quite slim. I had the same problem in our previous trip and was unable to move it up despite pounding the app before the trip, the night before and the day of. We had to catch ME and I wound up cancelling it as we were leaving DHS.

I would try to hit ToT without FP at official RD. I don't know how it will be with limited capacity, but even if you wait an hour, at least you don't have to rush back.

We did Toy Story EMM in February, left around 8:45 and rope-dropped ToT with no wait. Cast members were holding the line for EMM folks up on Sunset Boulevard, ahead of the main rope drop crowd being held at Hollywood Boulevard so we had a 100 ft head start or so. As long as you get there before they start walking the main crowd up you should be able to do it without much wait, even with the capacity restraint.

It seems to get to ToT after EMM, you have to give up a final ride in TSL in order to beat the RD people.

I would keep the afternoon ToT FP, and enjoy the HS shows. Then you have a chance for a 4th FP.

I did TS EMM and rode rides without FP. This is what we did and it worked our well. Arrive at EMM as early as they let you in, go and eat a light breakfast. Go get in line around 7:15-7:20. they sometimes let you into the land early. Tackle all your rides in TS land. at 8:45 leave and head towards ToT you should be ahead of the RD lines and should be able to get on an off quickly. If you are doing RnR - hit this next. then it should be around 9:30ish. They still serve breakfast until 10am, so have breakfast. Then move on to star tours and the other star wars stuff you want to do. Then hit indiana jones show. With this plan you should be able to be done with the park by 12-1pm giving you more time at Epcot. Then with this plan you can use your FP over at Epcot. I would stay at Epcot until 6:30 and then go back to HS for fantasmic (it is my least favorite show of all the park shows, but it is good to do at least once). Or if you just want a more relaxed evening i would just stay at epcot and see their night time show. There really is so much to see and do at epcot hopefully you do have a full day planned there.

Today there was a huge crowd headed to Tot and Rockin Rollercoaster. They let the crowds in to walk to the rides around 8:50. Rockin Rollercoaster was down for our FP time at 10 so I don’t think it opened at 9. That put literally everyone in the ToT line at park open. (That was headed that direction). There was a really big crowd aimed toward ToT area by 8:20. It actually was merged at the intersection where the crowd for toy story land was well before rope drop. I don’t think EMM people had any advantage on that group and may have actually had a disadvantage.
