How do they get Rod Serling to talk about the Tower of Terror on the attraction when there was no TOT twilight zone and he died before the ride was built? He talks to the riders all about the hollywood tower hotel. Just wondering. Remember when he says, "But this time, it's happening to you."

from towerofterror dot org:

Library Film: Rod Serling's introduction to the attraction, as viewed on film in the Library, was taken in part from an episode of the series titled, "It's a Good Life." This episode told the story of a little boy who could use his mind to change things. Serling began the episode with the words, "Tonight's story on The Twilight Zone® is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is a . . ." Imagineers completed that introduction with new dialogue customized for the attraction. For continuity, Serling's own voice was overdubbed by asound-alike actor to blend with the newly-added narration.

I once read a huge post, probably on micechat, about it, but I just went a'googling for that bit. :cool2:

I always knew that it wasnt his real voice on the elevator part.

Here's some additional information:

Rod Serling's widow picked the sound-alike actor for Rod's voice. Many were called by only one was chosen. The sound-alike voice is provided by Mark Silverman.

I always thought it was a look-alike on the tv -- wow, cool info. Thanks, Molly. :)
