I have this discussion often with my husband. When we first got married, I would use 2 new(clean)towels each morning for my shower. I know in reality, I could of used them more. I mean you are clean after the shower when you dry off. As the years passed I got better, I used the same 2 towel for maybe 3(thats my limit)and get new clean ones. My husband, on the other hand, can use the same towel for weeks and weeks and not see a problem with it.We have about a million towels, so that is not the problem. His arguement is that he is clean when he gets out of the shower, so whats the big deal.
I was just teasing him the other day about a towel he had in there for almost a month that he used. Then I told my 12 yr old son and we all giggled about it. The next morning I found the towel in the laundry basket :rotfl2: We do this all in fun.
So what do you do with your towels?

I am like you, 3 showers is my limit, DH however uses his towel for ever! Shelby's towel only gets used for her bath maybe 2 or 3 times too, but that's only cos I am incharge of her towel too! :teeth:

We only use our towels once, I know we are clean and could use them again, but I like fresh towels.

I wash the towels and sheets weekly. Now, at hotels I expect a fresh one daily but seriously, that is too many loads of laundry for me!

I wash my towels every couple of days and use a clean towel after every shower. I just like the feeling of completely dry towels and not damp ones. Then again, it's just my hubby and me, not a lot of towels to do :)

Towels get changed about every 4 or 5 days at my house. I grab them and put them in the laundry AND I hang the clean ones.

Every time they are used and they have to be put in the dryer, not hung up..I like them nice and soft and fluffy.

My towel will generally get changed when DW takes it down and gives me a new one. Otherwise I am usually too lazy to go find another one just before my shower.

I use a new towel after each shower/bath, even though you are clean when you dry off the towel is now damp and to me that means a breading ground for bacteria.

Hubby uses his until I pull it down and toss it in the dirty stuff, drives me nuts.

I typically change towels twice a week. But it's usually changed Friday and Sunday because I do my laundry on the weekends most of the time. Sometimes I'll throw in a load of stuff in the middle of the week, so it will be three times a week.

DD usually is good about hanging her towel up, so she's on the same schedule as me.

DS leaves his all over his room, so he gets more like 5 clean ones a week. As long as he puts it in the washing machine, I don't care how many times I have to wash them. I just don't want it going from his bedroom floor to his body!

Fresh towels and fresh pillowcases everyday for us. Can't sleep if there isn't a clean pillowcase on LOL. This was a big joke with DS's roomates at his dorm this past year. He had to have clean sheets once a week and a new pillowcase every night. They couldn't understand it, he thinks they changed their sheets, towels etc. once each semester...yuck!

I use a towel twice before it goes in the hamper. I know that *I* am clean after a shower but I do believe that as the towel is damp for several hours that it probably starts to breed low levels of bacteria and mildew.

Clean towels here after each & every shower. I saw a t.v. show once about all the bacteria that grows on wet towels...ohhhhh!!! :scared1:

I do one of two things. If I'm using one big fluffy towel, I'll use it one time, then wash it. If I'm using two medium size towels, I'll do it this way. I'll use one one my body, then throw it in the hamper. Then I'll use the other one on my hair, and then hang it up. The next day, I'll use the hair towel for my body, and a clean one for my hair. Then start the cycle all over again.

I know. I'm so complex.

I use one towel for both my body and my hair!!! How come you need two?

I don't know why I do it now, unless it's habit! My mom always bought el cheapo towels, so once you dried off with one, it would be really damp, so I'd grab another towel for my hair. I buy decent towels, so I really don't need to use 2 anymore.

It depends on when laundry day is. From 3-5 days is usual. Never over a week. I use two, one for my hair and face and the other for my body. I never mix them up. We each have our own towel rack to dry them on.
