I have never gotten a towel animal at a DVC resort, does someone not like me?:confused3 OK I'm not _that _ insecure but my kiddos are getting older and I think they would find them cool, are they a regular DVC thing? Were they a regular DVC thing? Or am I reading the wrong threads? :)

Can you tell i have no trips to plan currently? :rotfl:

Towel animals are not only a DVC thing. Before owning DVC, we had towel animals at every resort for every stay at both value and moderate resorts. Sorry, I hate to say this, but maybe your just jinxed!! :rolleyes1

Maybe there's a note in your file - do not leave towel animals? ;) Strange things can happen but we've always had some sort of towel creation. The most usual is 3 circles on the bed to form a Mickey. Hmmmmmm - I might take that back. I don't remember anything at BLT. Otherwise we've gotten at BWV, BCV, AKV - Jambo, OKW, VWL and VGC.

We stayed at SSR this Christmas. There was a cool donkey in the room when we arrived. My kids are obsessed with these things though so on our towel day I left an extra special tip and a note requesting more towel animals. Well, the mousekeeping folks really came through. We got another donkey, a mouse and a girl all made of towels. This was one of the highlights of the trip for my kids. We had received animals at All-Star and Animal Kingdom, but not at Poly earlier in the year. So...try the note and tip idea. Maybe it will help.

I wish I had known about them when I took my nephews to ASMo last year. We stayed 6 nights and never got one. I would have asked if I had know they existed! lol. When I stayed at Vero last month I had a sea turtle on my bed when I checked in.

I've gotten them a lot but didn't realize until recently that you were allowed to keep them. There must be a lot of stray towel animals running around the resorts on account of me -- keep an eye out for them, and feel free to "rescue" them if you see them.

I miss towel animals :(
We have never gotten any on any of our DVC stays.
Used to get them in the regular rooms all the time. It was fun coming back to the room to see what was waiting for us.

For now, I look forward to them on cruises, since that seems to be the only place I get them anymore :(

We have never had one either unless you count a mickey head made of 3 circles on the bed once when we arrived.

Friends of ours had great ones every day on their last trip. Their son has sensory issues and WDW rides are not his thing. On the other hand pins and towel animals were huge for him. He left notes for housekeeping every day and housekeeping left notes back with a new creation waiting for him every afternoon. I am not sure where they were staying.

They are suppose to be a hotel standard. I have stayed at BCV, AKLV, SSR.
Sometimes I have only gotten the Mickey head on bed upon arrival. At AKL I got animals everyday, but I think that may have been because we were in concierge which gives you housekeeping daily vs. regular DVC where housekeeping is on a schedule.

My last visit to WDW this April at SSR we did not have anything at all. I happened to be at the front desk getting help with directions and I asked if they were standard and it seems SSR's standard is actually a horse and everyroom is suppose to have one upon arrival.

Before becoming DVC members we stayed at All Star Movies and Port Orleans French Quarter several times. Each of this stays we had great mousekeepers who made different items everyday and used my daughter's (who is young then) stuffies in the display. They were very creative.

I think that depending how busy the location is at that time may depend upon how "crazy" with creativity they get.

We got a clown and a fish at BLT last time we stayed. I wrote a note to mousekeeping asking if I could keep them and told them how much I appreciated all they did. She wrote the nicest note back and gave me another clown. I had tipped her, too, of course. So, yes, they do give them at BLT, too.

Thanks for the replies but now I just feel left out!! :( OK again, not the end of the world, or as I have been saying lately, a first world "problem" but now I really want one!! I got them on a Royal Caribbean Cruise and they were always themed to the port of call and I loved it!! Anyhow, hopefully I will see many pix or actual ones soon. .which makes me wonder if there is a towel animal pic in the resort thread. . .hmmm. . .

Sometimes in the past we have gotten small ones in our entry way. This time nothing. But as long as our villa continues to be as clean as it is, I don't need any towel animals. With the length of time it takes to clean a DVC villa, I'd rather they clean the rooms.

There are books at various bookstores (on line and in the store) about towel animals.

And, no, they are not the standard in DVC villas.

:lmao:

We have had them, but not on every stay either. I do miss the pre-DVC days when our boys were young and excited to see what mousekeeping had done with their stuffed animals and towel animals. They really are fun.
