Towel Animals thread - a hoot! Anyone ever get a towel animal at DVC

We've gotten 'Mickey heads' at Hilton Head. One bath towel rolled up and then into a circle, plus 2 hand towels rolled up and then into circles and put together on the bed as a Mickey Head. It was not part of the towel allotment. We've gotten this the last 4 or 5 times.

On one visit to OKW we got a little bunny in our bathroom in a studio.

At Beach Club Villas, we also had something on the sink that was an animal, but I'm still not sure what it was.

We had swans in the mater bath of a GV at OKW a couple years ago. But haven't seen any others since then at a DVC resort.

We had towel animals in our room at Port Orleans in January 2003. Never saw them in WDW room before. What was funny was we had just come off the Disney Wonder 4-night cruise, with towel animals each night. It was definitely the towel animal vacation!!! (and no, we didn't take any of them home - just took pictures ;-)

We walked into our two bedroom at Hilton Head last June and found a "Minnie head" on the island in the kitchen. It was a great way to start the vacation!!!

one of the housekeepers had taken our DS's Bob The Builder stuffed animal pillow (about 2' tall) and left it wrapped up in toilet paper in the bathroom. It was hilarious to see -- we have several pictures of him. Very cute.

Same trip, same hotel, must have been the same housekeeper, because the next night, we returned to find "Bob" all tucked in for the night -- snug as a bug, sleeping in the bunk with a stuffed Mickey as a cuddly.

Just something a bit different to play with I guess. And, we did tip extra for the special touches.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom at the then Disney Institute with friends over 10 years ago. One of our friends who was sleeping on the couch had a teddy bear she slept with.

Came back from the park and found the TV on the living room. We certainly didn't leave it on when we left in the morning. Walked into the room and found teddy in a armchair facing the TV holding the remote! What a hoot! Teddy was watching TV!

Came back on another evening and found Teddy "waiting and looking out" for us from the bottom corner of the window next to the townhouse front door.

I have had towel animals at BWV, BCV and OKW.

We had lots of them when we checked into OKW last Oct. When I complimented the mousekeepers she said we could take them home! I said, "Oh no!" I did take lots of pictures as this was the first time we'd ever had towel animals.
We just got back from a Disney cruise (and loved it!!!) and the towel animals every night was one of my favorite parts!!

We've had very many happy towel animals / stuffed toy adventures when staying in regular WDW resorts over the years, but never anything in DVC resorts - until this Easter when we had several face-cloth rabbits at OKW

I assumed it was an Easter 'extra', but it sounds as though it just depends on who you have for your maid.

It's such an easy way (well, easy if you know how, I guess ) to add an extra touch of magic that I'm surprised WDW don't make it a regular part of housekeeping like they seem to on the DCL.

In March at PO(prior to DVC purchase) housekeeping made a really cute "pool scene" on the AC unit. There were 2 towel animals (a rabbit and a moose) and then all of my boys Buzz Lightyear toys relaxing on a blue bag (for water) with two towles as the pool coping. It was really cute....2 room supervisors had stopped by while we were there and thought they were cute too (like they had never seen them before). Of course we left them there too! I think it's a really nice "magical" thing for the children.

We got bunnies and an Easter basket over Easter at VWL in 2003. I did not let DD have them since I figured they would add to the dues bottom line. Also they were not in additon to the number of regular towels/wash clothes.

We have gotten small items on trash and towel day, and one BIG display on our first trip home at checkin! It was a wonderful welcome, and set a great mood for the entire stay!

We have had many towel animals in the past, but our favorite was at OKW this past January when we were staying for an extended period of time. The room hostess took my daughter's stuffed animals, (Beanies, Minnie, etc.) and they were all riding on a towel "long canoe" with towel "oars" and everything! It was quite impressive! We were thrilled. We had my daughter jump in the "boat" with her friends and got a great picture!

Alright, so we've only been to Disney three times in recent years, but I'm really jealous of you guys getting the towel art. That huge "HI" was great!

I think I better start wishing on a star...maybe this time....

Here's our picture! It only took me about one thousand tries to get it on here...and it is too big. I will try again, but for now...enjoy our "boat" it was great fun!
