Touringplans Line App and touring plans

I add my fake FP+ the same way I do the real ones, just ahead of time. Lol I look at the first TP draft the site shoots out at me, look for the longest wait time, then add a faker near that time. And I do one at a time. ie. I'll enter one for Space Mtn then optimize. Then enter the next one, optimize, and so on. I'll remove them only after I get my real ones, as I can be looking at my TP while I'm making my FP+ selections!

I'm sure you made some requests through you TA, but you can still do similar requests on Touriing Plans. You'll be brought to a resort map and once you select a room, you can see a view from that area of the resort. If you like it, click it as your preferred room and Touring Plans will take care of the rest near your travel dates.

I received 2 alerts so far for my upcoming trip in August. One was the date ticket prices were increasing. Another was when the next discounts were coming out. Pretty awesome!

That's when our trip is too, in August! We can't wait. We are also going to the Universal parks for 3 days.

Thanks for the clarification. The only way I can take your initial thought is as being flippant. You implied that it was stupid I would be worrying about a $12.99 subscription when already paying thousands of dollars for a trip.

So just to clarify, I wasn't worried about the price. I was just wondering if it was worth the price based on how well the app works, which is what the entire last sentence here in bold was about.

Also does anyone have any experience or opinions about them, especially is it worth the subscription price and the time to use them when you are actually in the parks?

Well, how could I not? I made the post and you did say you replied to that specific part of my post. It's like you were trying to see it from my viewpoint but couldn't really understand what the fuss was about; after all it was only $12.99 as compared to spending thousands for the trip.

Anyhow, perhaps you are right about the written word compared to the spoken word. Had you said "I'm also considering getting the subscription from the site but I'm worried the subscription price is too much", then I could see your argument.

I guess my point is that you might want to consider how you craft your responses in the future so your message is received in the way you meant by the person you are communicating with.

So I finally purchased the Lines App for WDW. So far so good.

I'm thinking of upgrading through the app to include Universal as well. Does anyone know how much it is to upgrade? It doesn't actually show the cost. Just that you need to download the official Universal Studios app first.

The one thing I found made the greatest difference when it comes to the heat and humidity is the material for clothing. The last time we went I wore shirts made out of Rayon. I found it difficult to find shirts made of that material, but if you live in a large city look for the typical Hawaiian shirts. Those are the types of shirts that you typically find made of that material.

I found I didn't sweat nearly as much in a Rayon shirt compared to a light cotton t-shirt or shirts made of ClimaCool.

Thanks for the info. You mentioned you were able to make changes on the go. Am I correct in assuming changes are made through the Lines App?

Also, do you customize the plan through the website first?

And lastly I noticed Figment4EVA wasn't able to add fast passes. Is this something you need to add on the web site first and then update through the Lines App if need be?

Yes...you can either customize the pre-existing plans or create new ones based on what YOU want to see...you create the plans on-line first...add your fast-pass, meals, breaks, naps....then they will sync up to the phone app...I have my plans set for my late May trip...once I'm at the parksd, I'll see how things go and decide if I wanna skip attractions or add others...I can also re-evaluate the plans or optimize as the app/website updates park info every day...I use them on all my trips...one of the main features I enjoy is the Crowd Calendar...it suggests what parks you should visit on specific days...this alone is worth the subscription price....

We used the app and the website for the spring break trip. longest line we stood in was 20 minutes. It was the most rides we have ever done in a single day, on a saturday no less, and we were passholders. it was comparable to a Thursday in February using the plans. Their book and app is absolutely the most invaluable piece of planning you can do.

I just used my 3rd post in 6 years to tell you this. That is how much i think of touringplans.com.

I have not been to the park yet with it, but have been impressed with the reviews and the wealth of knowledge on the site. Also for planning on getting from one attraction to the other. Using the relaxed walking speed and less walking, I know we will not be sprinting from attractions. My Family is very excited and that is the best part!

We also love Touring Plans. We usually don't use the full plans, but I like the "Plan that isn't a plan" or whatever that is called. We aren't really commando folks, so I don't like timing our days to the minute, but if you want more stuff in a day, then it works well.

But I SWEAR by the Lines app. I pay for TP each year just to use that. It is nearly perfect for us almost each time we go. It allows us to look and see what rides nearby have the best wait times so we can go to those and not have to do commando scheduling.

We just got back from a 6 day Spring Break trip. I was so afraid of the crowds. Each day that we were in the parks they were rated either a 9 or a 10 out of 10. I used Touring plans and made plans each day as recommended, then I bought the Lines app and used it each day in the parks. We NEVER waited more than 10 minutes for any ride and we found the Lines app to be very accurate regarding wait times. It was also a lot of fun to be "zigging" when the rest of the crowds were "zagging". I highly recommend both and would even do Spring Break in Disney again. but only with these 2 programs. A few questions...and before I ask them please know that I am taking my first WDW trip this June and I am in planning overload. I paid for touring plans and have the app on my phone. For each of our WDW days, I put in which rides we want to ride and hit "optimize" to let touring plans come up with a plan for us. I even added in the fast passes that I hope to get (next week!!!). My question is...is TP automatically putting a plan in place for us that will have us "zigging" when everyone else is "zagging"? How do I know if my plan is right?

How exactly did you use the app? Although I get that it gives wait times, I'm not sure exactly how I will use it during our trip.

Any other tips for a newbie???

I am very curious about the Lines App as well. As a newbie, and tips would be greatly appreciated. Does it give you a list of rides to do in order or suggest rides at certain times? Did anyone who used the app find they needed to be checking their phone all the time or was the app super convenient? Does it allow you to include ADRs? Thank for your help everyone!
