touring Universal/IOA with a wheelchair?

Universal is in compliance with the ADA. you won't have any issues getting around for the rides and shows.

there are elevators available to reach some of the rides when you have mobility issues such as the wc.

if you have the non motorized wc, you can use them through the regular line up to the ride.

Have fun and be prepared to transfer from your wheelchair to the ride's seating on most rides.

We had the grandparents along with us in September for our first ever family Orlando trip. To be on the safe side we rented a Electic Wheelchair/Jazzy-in case the heat got too much for either...Initially, they rebuked it...aaaaaahhhhhhyyyy we're only 67 and both of us are in good shape....okay, well it's there if you need it, if not so be it. We took it with us, Pappy used it for a little bit, then when he got up to make a restroom stop, Mimi decided to sit on it...you know...just to see how it feels...suffice to say it was the saving grace of the whole trip!!!

In the end they ended up taking turns using it and Mimi was a riot in US/IA...here's her senior moment!

This was her first time on it, hamming it up as only Mimi can do! Seriously, they had no problem getting around either park---there are plenty of sidewalks and streets that are very accessible.

weich1001,I need to show my dad this.He thinks there is know way he can make it around US..He is 72 with 2knee replacemenys and a broke hip that left his right leg 2inches shorter!!This will lift his spirit to go!!:thumbsup2

In post #9 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there is some information about Universal, including a link to a pdf file of their rider's guide. That indicates the handicapped information about the attractions.

Thanks so much for the information. We're taking my FIL in August and he has a VERY weak leg/foot from a stroke as a child. We never dreamed he'd be able to ride Jurassic Park River Adventure or Rip Saw Falls because he wouldn't have the leg strength to get in or out of the boat.

This is going to be a fun trip. Thanks again.
