hi everyone, my family and I, (Wife, Beth, Ellie and joshua) want to do a 3 week trip to florida April (ish) 2006. We went with the girls for 3 weeks to All Star Movies back in 02 and it was truly amazing.

We would like to drive the FLorida keys from the far end, all the way up the west coast of Florida for say 10 days or so, stopping on the way and then into Disney for 2 weeks or so.

What are your experiences with the Big Campers, it seems the best way to keep the kids amused whislt driving, but do you know of any good campsites en-route.

Also, a big problem appears to be on the horizon, Josh will be 2 and 4/5 months when we go and I can seem to book for the five of us in one room through Virgin, has anyone else had this prob and how did you get round it?

Thanks to all

Merry Christmas

The Disney Value hotels don't allow 5 in a room unless the 5th is an infant. Considering your son's age he isn't really an infant and in any case you'd be very squashed with a crib in there as well. Could you consider a Moderate resort where they do allow 5. With all the codes etc you may get a good rate.
Your proposed trip sounds great.

hi Gill

Thanks for replying. Who did you normally book up with? or do you sory it all yourself. We went with Virgin last time and it was the best price I found anywhere, but this trip will be a bit more 'out of the ordinary' so I think I need to book seperatly. The other resorts look great, but i have always been a bit unsure about paying a lot more, when it is just some where to put your head down, lets face it you dont want to be in the room really. The cabins that sleep 6 (I think) look great, but who in hell afords to take a full family for 2 weeks to one of those. If you have any ideas about who I should book with that would be great.

thanks again
Steve

we've booked it all with Virgin and booked accommodation direct with Disney, booking a fly/drive with Virgin. WE stayed 6 of us Christmas 1997 at POFQ, that's a lovely hotel for adults and kids alike...great pool/slide. We had 3 rooms so it was BIG BUCKS but if you only need one.... I'm afraid a log cabin isn't for me.

Good luck whatever you decide.
