For those that have done the Disneyland 1/2, and specifically the DDD, how feasible is it to tour the parks after the races?

I plan to be there Thurs-Mon at the minimum. I might stretch the trip into a week and then this won't be an issue, but I'm not sure that will work out right now. If just Thurs-Mon, I would probably do the parks Fri & Sat, or Sat & Sun.

I assume I will probably miss rope drop on race days, and I probably wouldn't stay until the park closes if I have a race the next morning. With the holiday weekend crowds, will I get to do any of the headliners?

What have been your experiences?

I ran the DDD last year and had energy to tour the parks. In fact, I went to the expo after the 10k, walked up and got a pair of NB disney shoes then toured the parks in them. We walked on half of the rides without a wait and the worst wait was at DL (Matterhorn) which was 25 minutes. I was shocked at the lack of crowds in the parks both days. I walked on California Screamin three times in a row without a wait then waited 15 minutes for TSM! :worship:

Now labor day was pretty darn busy though, with waits on everything.

the other thing to factor in is after Monday a LOT of stuff usually closes for rehab (last year I think 5-6 rides closed between the parks) and the park hours shrink drastically (it was I think 8a-12a Sat/Sun/Mon 10a-7p tues) but the crowds disappear so it evens out... Most of the nighttime shows will only play on the weekend

Wow that is reassuring! I'm not even sure I really believe you :lmao:
I wouldn't do any parks on Monday. I don't have flights booked yet, but I would probably be leaving around noon that day

Luckily, I won't be staying after labor day no matter what, but I do wish I could go when there are less crowds!
