Touring snag first day...suggestions welcome

We are flying into Orlando at 9:20 on our first day so I hope to be at our hotel by 10:15. Here is my problem: I had thought I booked 50s PTC for dinner that night. My plan was to run over to MK and have fun all day, then go back and unpack late afternoon and jet on over to MGM. However, in looking over my ADRs it turns out I have Kona booked for dinner at our own hotel, the Polynesian.
Should I stick with the plan--dump bags at the Poly then go to MK, then go back to Poly and eat, and then go....where? Epcot is open until midnight that first day.
Or should we go somewhere else for our late morning/afternoon touring that first day? I had just picked MK for it's proximity to the hotel. MK is an morning EMH that day so it will be crowded, but we are expecting that (we've done July before). We could go to Epcot or MGM and come back to eat that evening, then chill out at MK that night for Wishes.
Any suggestions welcome.

I say be flexible... get in go to the MK, then Kona for dinner, then enjoy your room, enjoy the pool, enjoy a Lapu Lapu on the beach while sitting in a hammock or beach chair watch Wishes from the Poly!! :goodvibes

The Polynesian has that lure of island time, it lures you in, and you're on vacation ... esp if you've taken an early flight to get in to the MK at 9ish am, you've spent the night before packing up last minute details... so take that night and relax, you've earned your vacation, Wishes from the Beach!! :thumbsup2

I was thinking the exact same thing. You'll probably be up early that morning. If you just relax after dinner, you'll be more rested and ready to go the next morning. If you're only going to be there for a few days then I say try to get in as much as possible but if you have the time, I'd definitely not try to rush rush rush on arrival day. Have fun!

I agree with chillin at the resort after MK. If you are really restless, hop on the monorail and check out GF and the CR. BTW, I think you are under estimating your MCO to WDW time unless you only have carry ons and are taking a taxi. :earsboy:

oops, when I went to post I got "server busy" so I posted twice by accident! Sorry!

i ditto the rest and relax and watch wishes from the beach suggestion... if your flight is landing at 9:20, that means you were likely up before 5am! rest up for the next day and the remainder of your vacation!

We fly in and out on Tuesday (MUCH cheaper!). We get there July 11, 3 weeks from today!
That sounds like a plan--we can watch Wishes from the beach, head over to the Contemporary or GF and check out their stuff...thanks!
