Should I use a company to help plan our day? I have been to DL a few times but I am only going to be here for two days this time. Going to a wedding at Joshua Tree National Park and had to see the mouse before we go home. LOL Who did you use? Ridemax or Touring plans? The dates we will be there are May 3rd DCA and doing DL on May4th. (I think as long as WOC is showing that night I can switch dates around.) Thanks, Gina :)

IMO touring plans (from RM or TP) are cheap. If you think you might need them then do it. Then when you get to the parks follow them or not. But then you have them.

I prefer the RM touring plans. And May 3-4 will likely be not too crowded.

Ridemax is a relatively new piece of software that will generate touring plans for you. For ~$20/3 months and ~$30/year subscriptions, the investment might be worth the time-savings for a lot of folks.

I don't mean to hijack, but am I correct in thinking a touring plan might not do us much good, as we are going to be there 1 week after Carsland opens? I am thinking no one will know in advance what this will do to the touring plans?

In your case, it's an option to use Ride Max, but it not a very busy time. The third will have light crowds, the fourth start light and get busy in the evening. You should be able to get a lot done before the evening crowds arrive.

That would be a good time to have one, but for DCA you are right it probably won't be too helpful. I would suspect a week later and ridemax will have updated data to use incorporating the new crowd patterns due to CL.

Ridemax for DLR has been around since at least 2004 and is not new at all. I used in in 2005. See this thread I wrote in 2005

"RideMax Critique Plus Conventional and Unconventional Usage on August 1-4 Trip" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=885134

They have had a WDW version since 2006.

RideMax has been around since at least 2004 and has worked fine for folks after major new offerings such as Space Mtn re-opening (2005), POTC refurb and reconfiguration with Captain Jack (2006), Finding Nemo Sub Voyage (2007), Toy Story Midway Mania (2008), and Star Tours and Little Mermaid (2011).

What they do is get someone from RM there on opening day and they take a real conservative guess at the wait times for the rides to make sure you can get on them. Then they collect mroe data over time and adjust their itineraries. The key thing with RM is always to rerun your itineraries as close to your departure data as possible to make sure you have their latest and greatest data.

Bottom line is if you want a touring plan, RM can give one that works for DCA this summer.
