touring plans

I need help with touring plans for both parks! We have don WWD several times and I always have a game plan for each day of the trip. This is our first Universal experience, and I can't figure out how to approach each park -to avoid those lines! We are on-site, and have the WWOHP early entry feature. I know what to do for WWOHP, but don't know where to head after that. I have a 14-yr old and a 19-yr old, so we probably won't spend time in Seuss, or the many play areas. As far as US goes, I'm completely lost on how to approach the park. I seem to read a lot that RRR is first due to no Express Line. Any suggestions after that? I've always approached WWD with a plan for fastpasses and long-wait rides at the beginning of the day, then a hotel pool break, and back to another park in the evening, based on early-entry and extra hour schedules. This time, we only have 3 days and one park each day tickets. We think we'll do US one day and IOA two days.

Honestly, since you have three days and are onsite, I think you'll be surprised how much you'll be able to get done. Get WWoHP done during early entry, and after that go where you want. With Express, you'll bypass most long lines and wait maybe 15 minutes max for anything. You already know that Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit doesn't take Express--neither does Forbidden Journey or Pteranadon Flyers. Otherwise, you will be spoiled walking to the Express line and walking right on when you want, as many times as you want!

sounds like you plan to do one park a day only.
2 days for ioa and 1 for the studios.

break up the way you do the parks.
do ioa on the first day.
so the studios on the second day.

decide if you want to park hop on the 3rd day.
if you are completely done and have seen everything at the studios then scratch what i said above...

if you take in the shows at the studios, horror make up show, beetlejuice, disaster, blues brothers show, you might run short on time on rides.
maybe not...

if T2 is still open when you go, try to catch it.
it is going down sometime this summer.

there are some rides in the studios that have a delayed start time.

if you later decide to park hop on day 3, you can upgrade that day ticket to a hopper at guest services.
you pay the difference only.

you won't have line wait issues with the unlimited express lines.
there will be some crowds in the parks but i doubt that the studios will be as full as ioa.

do the parks in the daytime.
hit the pools in the evening at the hotels.
you can pool hop to the other onsite hotels.

also try to take in city walk.
your kids might enjoy it.

you will have fun at universal.
enjoy your time there and at the hotel!

wait until the third day to make that one ticket a hopper if you bought single tickets.

i am assuming that means you bought 3 separate day tickets and not a pass of any type.

anyway, do the upgrade of day 3 ticket to a hopper if you find you have completed everything at the park you start with and want to finish up at the other park.

i would suggest you do ioa first on day #3.
do potterville, then do the rest of the park.

go over to the studios around noonish.
do things there.
that park will close before ioa.

return to ioa around 5:30.
before/after you do dinner.

finish the evening at ioa.
the lines at FJ will diminish at the end of the park day.
