Touring Plans Question

I joined Touring Plans a couple of months ago. I have added in our desired attractions, activities, and mealtimes. We have our plans in place. My question is do you ever re-evaluate your plans without making adding/removing items?

I noticed that one of the days now has AK at a 7 crowd rather than a 6. Should I rerun the optimize (or evaluate) button or does the website automatically do this?

Thanks!!
Jody

You can re-run the Optimize button - the website doesn't do it automatically. I'd also suggest re-optimizing after you do your first step once you're in the park.

My suggestion is to never use optimize. It'll have you running all over the park. Place the attractions in order of how you plan on attending, and click evaluate.

This is what I do. I let it optimize once, this move things as needed, then only use evaluate after. Optimizing will completely change all of your steps around.

I think crossing the park can be minimized by setting a slower walking speed. If that's not enough, set the "Walking vs Waiting" preference to minimize walking.

That works because the touring plan's default assumption is that you value 1 minute of walking = 1 minute of waiting in line. The two adjustments above are used when that assumption isn't true.

Things outside the plan's control that can also require crossing the park: arrival and departure times, meals, breaks, and how Disney schedules shows, especially at DHS.

It is true. Doing all that, definitely helps. I just prefer to play with the order I expect to attend attractions, fast passes, shows, meals/breaks and evaluate.

As I've stated repeatedly on here, I love your site @lentesta. I've been using it for years.

If you want to reduce the amount of time you spend in lines, optimize regularly while your at the parks. It will take actual wait times into effect and adjust your plan to prevent waiting. It may have you walking from side to side in the park.

On my last trip, I was able to get way ahead of my plan one day. I was in MK and was a 6 or 7 crowd level. Th morning crowds started slowly so I had all my morning attractions covered and the first three of the afternoon ones before we stopped for a bite to eat. Optimizing the plan changed the rest of my day a lot and I was able to add attractions I hadn't planned on doing.
