Touring Plans or Undercover Tourist?

Hello!

We are planning a trip for the end of July and it's been a long time since I've done summer. I have looked at the crowd calendars for our days on both Touring Plans and Undercover Tourist and they are conflicting. Is there one you find that is more reliable to rely on?

Thanks!

I used to love touring plans calendars but I don’t think any crowd calendars are accurate anymore, just plan for and expect huge crowds and if the crowds aren’t horrible you’ll be pleasantly surprised and if they are, you’ll be prepared.

Thank you! I used to follow Tour Guide Mike and I've used his strategies for my visits since...but since it was summer, I'd thought I take a look out of curiosity. But they were so different that I thought I ask. :)

I drove myself crazy comparing TP, UT, and KtP. I think they’re good for general resort-wide crowd levels at least but maybe not so much each park. I used TP primarily last trip and found it to be reasonably accurate, but also that a few factors influenced our “perceived crowd level”: did we have a PPO breakfast (and skipped the line at RD)? did we have a plan to hit headliners early? etc.

I’m definitely preparing for much heavier crowds during my April trip but planned park days based on: plan DHS and AK for later in the trip for FP reasons, spread the parks out so no park twice back to back (for boredom), and make a “must do” wishlist for each day so we feel accomplished as long as we hit those goals.

We love TP!!!! I like to have the ability to make and change and optimize my park plans. Also, the ADR finder is amazing. Since my parents decided to join us, we had to redo several ADRs. Have been able to get both Ohana for dinner and bfast for the times we wanted by using their finder.

Oh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the TP website so far. I am having so much fun making and changing and optimizing our park plans (it's almost like a game, I have found I can make the wait time even less when implementing my own strategies!). And it helped me find an ADR at Beaches & Cream so I am one happy girl!

I like to look at both for general crowd levels – I figure if they generally agree, that's as good as you're gonna get. As folks have said, Touring Plans has lots of other great features like the ADR finder.

I really like the Touring Plans Lines app while in the park. Great line estimates.

i look at crowd calendars, but never really believe any of them.
I wouldn't stress too much as to what they say.
I have seen the crowds go from an expected 3 to a 7 and back to a 4. within a few weeks.
