I have both and wanted to know from experience which one is the most accurate?
I have been checking them from home to get an idea of what fastpasses to make for what times.
I noticed that Touring Plans add what wait time is posted and what the actual wait is.

MDE, just because I want to be a contrarian.

OK, fine... I'd agree Lines is more accurate...assuming that at least one or two people have reported wait times recently. If it's been inactive (which is rare) for long stretches, then I found it to be lacking somewhat. However, most of the time it's pretty darn good.

Actually, I still like MDE as well. It's consistently inaccurate...if that makes sense. It's always conservative. So if it says 40 minutes, it's probably around 25-30.

However, regardless of which app you use, a lot of it has to do with how many FP+ come through while you're in queue. If a steady and consistent stream come through, then it's accurate. If none come through then you'll get on much quicker than predicted. If a flood comes rushing in, it'll take much longer. That's how we got on FEA less than 2 weeks after grand opening. MDE said 90 minutes, but Lines said 40. So we went for it. By luck, I guess, almost zero FP+ came through while we were in line. So it was boat after boat of standby...we waited less than 30 minutes.

This.

To me any Standby line wait time is inaccurate thanks to FP+. There really is no science to it because people can show up whenever they want during their window (and even slightly later).

If EVERYONE who has a FP for the "1:00 - 2:00p" window shows up at 1:15p .. along with everyone who had the 1:15-2:15p window that standby line goes up significantly in just a few minutes. If you happen to have gotten in line at 1:10 and the standby said 20 minutes .. and all those people show up at once? Well, your line isn't going to move very much in the next 15 minutes.

I'd trust MDE more than a 3rd party app (that relies on people reporting wait times) because they know how many people have Fast Passes for every given window and probably have some calculation on how many people come through during that time. But like the above poster said, I would always guess that MDE listed wait time is less than what it says.

What I'd like to find out is exactly how many Fast Passes Disney dishes out per hour for each ride on an average day.

Do they give out 100 Fast Passes per hour time slot for Splash Mountain? 200? 300? How is that compared to their per hour capacity? I have always been curious just how many people have Fast Passes for a ride when it is 100% booked for the day.

I'm not going to pay for a TP subscription when MDE gives me the same information for free. Honestly, I don't care if the wait times in MDE are over stated.

Agree, the differences are insignificant in the grand scheme of all things Disney, in my opinion.

I always wanted to know how many FP's are given out per hour too !
