Touring plans, FPs, help me decide!

Im 66 days out from our third WDW trip. I like to use the touring plans website to make myself free touring plans, because DS does better if he knows what's coming up so it helps us to be organized.

I've got a pretty good idea of what we are doing for AK and Epcot, and not too worried about DHS since the only ride we do there is TSMM. But for some reason, I'm struggling with MK, and deciding the best way to plan things.
We don't do any thrill rides, and don't have interest in the mine train, space or splash mountain. We will also have a DAS to utilize along with our FPs, if we need it (we rarely use it at AK or DHS). I've let touring plans make up a schedule for me based on what we want to ride, but can't decide what to try for as far as FPs. And some of the things on the plan seem to go against what I would *think* would be good advice. For example, it has us starting at RD by meeting Mickey at Town Hall Square, even though I'd think rushing to PP or Pooh would make more sense. Of course it also said PP would be a 15 min wait at 9:45 so not sure how accurate it is!

So would you FP the princesses at fairytale hall (either both sets of them, or just one set and wait for the other), Speedway, PP, POC, or BLSRS? Does it seem like any of those would be difficult to get a FP for? I can't decide if I should try to get FP times to coordinate roughly with the touring plan, or just grab what I want and then rearrange the plan to fit those. If you do touring plans, what do you do? This was so much easier last trip, when DS didn't think he'd do any rides and we just got the princess meets and PP, then he ended up wandering around and rode anything with less than a 15 minute wait!!! Now he has all these expectations, haha :D

We always FP Tomorrowland Speedway because my kids love it but I hate waiting in the fumes!

I would also probably fast pass Elena of Avalon if she's a must.

Same for PP.

If timing isn't an issue then get what's most important and rearrange from there. Have fun!

I would FP the princesses, or at least Elena. I'd just go see the other set early-ish in the morning if you don't want to use two FP on them.

I would definitely get a FP for PP.

It's probably putting Mickey so early due to walking efficiency and he can get long waits later. I think meet & greets tend to muck up Touring Plans. Have you tried adjusting the waiting and walking time sliders at the top? I also tend to find their wait times right at opening to be off. However, we tend to get there way before RD and are some of the first to enter the park. If you are at the back of the RD pack, I could easily see some of their wait times make sense. Also, if different plans are off by 5 minutes or so, it's really a wash in the long run. Maybe also try reordering stuff and doing an evaluate, not optimize, to see how that turns out.

I probably should FP the speedway, since it's the one ride DH looks forward to riding with DS! Plus, I don't really want to wait in those fumes either!

Sounds like PP is a must then, if we decide to ride it again.
Do both pairs of princess meet and greets start near the same entrance? I'm thinking maybe we could FP one and then get a DAS return time for one set when we head over for the FP pair. Honestly, DS doesn't even really know one princess from another, he just loves to meet pretty girls ;) His favorite is what he still calls "sleepy beauty", aka Aurora, followed by Anna and Elsa, but we will have to seek them out in Epcot!

Thanks for the advice :flower:

We will most likely be at the front of the RD crowd, as we are early risers and aren't doing MK on an EMH morning (though I think it's an EMM morning so don't know if that will affect crowds). If we want to meet Mickey and Tinkerbell, does it make sense to pop in there first instead of rushing to the rides? I don't think DS will be able to handle the lines to meet them if we wait until later in the day.

I definitely have to play with the touring plan more - I tweaked the heck out of my AK and Epcot ones, but I'm half thinking I may just wing it for MK and let DS take us where ever he feels like wandering!

Unfortunately, I don't really know how the waits really are for Mickey and Tink; I have only read anecdotal info from other people's trip reports. We don't do most of the meets & greets. You could look around in Touring Plans to see if the info is there maybe.

They are right next to each other.

The lines for Mickey and Tink have always been pretty lengthy during our visits, and we tend to come during slow times. Once we did try to see Mickey at rope drop, but meet and greet lines are slow moving and we ended up jumping out of line because we felt like we were wasting the best part of the day. We have used FP for Tink and it's worth it, still took some time in line even with FP!

I know from last June when we went FP for Mickey and Tink were usually available the day of in MK and pretty easy to get in the evening. I would recommend getting a FP for seeing the Princesses. The lines at certain times of day could be very long or very short. It's hard to predict it because most of the waiting is inside. However, I did remember seeing FP available in the evening as well on the day of but they went pretty quickly after a few hours in the park when people start using up their 3 FP's selections and book their 4th's and 5ths etc..etc..

Yeah, saving Mickey or Tink for your 4th FP is probably a really good idea!
