Hi All -

The last time I posted on DISboards was for our trip to WDW a few years back. Now we're headed to California, and we can't wait!!

We're actually going to be at California Adventure next Thursday (6/12) and Disneyland next Friday (6/13), so it's coming up fast!

I am having trouble finding a link that would help us plan our days at each park. :confused3 There will be 8 of us in our group (4 daring adults and 4 daring tweens). We are ready to ride anything and everything!

We are feeling most stumped about CA because there are so many great rides there. We know we need to start with a FP for RSR, but from there we're not sure where to go. Some sites recommend a FP for Soarin'...But we're leaning towards wanting to go towards TSMM and CS. Of course, we need to figure in grabbing a FP for World of Color. Could anyone briefly break down what order we should go in? If we start getting FP's early on in the day, how long is the wait until we can run for another one?

Disneyland seems a bit less complicated to navigate. But again, if anyone can give us an idea of where to go first, second, third...that would be great!

Or, if there's a link to some great threads that would answer these questions, I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Thanks so much!! :yay:

Everytime we go to Disneyland we spend the $15 for a 90 day subscription to Ridemax.com. My family loves it. You select the start and stop time that you will be in the park, you then select the rides you want to go on, plus select any shows and if you will be using a fastpass runner. Then it generates your schedule with approximate wait times. This is really helpful when the parks are crowded like during the summer. There is also a ton of information like where to stand for parades and shows as well as some tricks about the rides you might not know about. Plus there is a money back guarantee so you can't lose. Great investment when you want to do a lot and don't want to spend all your time in lines waiting. Some people know Disneyland very well and don't need this but we don't and it always helps us.

I would start off with a fast pass for RSR then directly go to WOC distribution and then get a California screaming fast pass because none of these rides/attractions are connected to the system. Then I would go over to TSMM and wait in the line. After you wait and ride TSMM your time will likely be up for California screaming. Then I would go to California soaring or Tower of Terror and get a fast pass. Then go back to California screaming and get in line. I would continue like this throughout the day.

I would not waste time or money with ridemax or touring plans. The people here in this forum can provide you with much better guidance for free.;)

Based on the tours that I have given...

DCA:
Get to the park 15-30 minutes before opening at 8am
When the park opens skip RSR FP and head directly to Paradise Pier and do Toy Story Mania first then California Screamin, Mickey Fun Wheel, basically go around the lagoon until you finish with Little Mermaid. This should take you an hour and a half
At 930am get in line for the RSR FP while the rest of the family does Bugs Land.
After you get the RSR FP (Return time should be around 330pm-5pm), immediately get the Soarin FP, and then the World of Color FP.
Finish up Bugs Land and then use the Soarin FP followed by Lunch around 1130am
After Lunch get a FP for Tower of Terror, watch Aladdin at 1240pm
After Aladdin do the rest of Hollywood Land then use the FP for Tower of Terror
After all of that do the Cars Land attractions and use the FP for RSR.
Rest of the evening is open.
Get in line for World of Color 15-30 minutes before the time posted on the ticket and make sure you get a spot against a rail.

DL:
Get to the park 15-30 minutes before opening at 9am
Head to Fantasyland and do Peter Pan first, Dumbo, Mr Toad, Matterhorn, Pinocchio, and Snow White. Finish by 10am
Grab a FP for Indiana Jones, ride Splash Mountain, ride Haunted Mansion, ride Pirates, grab a FP for Big Thunder, use FP for Indy, ride Jungle Cruise, watch Enchanted Tiki Room, use FP for Indy, have Lunch
During lunch grab FP for Star Tours then come back for lunch, head to Tomorrowland and do the attractions there after Lunch.
All done by 5pm.

PM me if you have any questions.

Touring plans was a big let down for us. For starters, the wait times were completely wrong. If I would have followed it, it would have done a disservice for our trip. It also had us going to the Frozen meet in the middle of the day.

If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't waste my time with it. It is not needed if you study the parks and know what you are doing.

I think doing your own Touring plan is just as easy as any of the apps. I simply use a google docs of what I want to see in an order that makes as decent sense as possible. I've gone simpler by simply putting together a list by land of what I want to see because I will have less time. You can easily see this on your smart phone if you have the google docs app.
