We are going aftetr Thanksgiving, with our MK days being Nov 27 (Have Christams party in the evening)and Nov 28. Trying to decide what fast passes to get and how to plan the 2 days with a 9 yrs old and a 4 yr old. Saw some touring plans in the Unofficial guide to Disney book. Not sure if people used it and found helpful/

Any suggestions for how to plan for fast passes considering that we have 1.5 days to cover the MK with 9 and 4 yr old.

Thanks

I'd say definitely 7 Dwarves Mine Train and Peter Pan. Both of those rides have consistently high wait times throughout the day, and seem like a good fit for your kids' ages. Besides those two, I'd just FP whatever your kids will enjoy the most. Space Mountain would be the other one with consistently longer waits, but not sure if your kids would be up to that.

In general, I'd try to plan my FPs starting around 11ish. If you get there at park opening, the wait times are low enough you don't want to "waste" a FP that early in my opinion. Keep in mind you can make different FPs for different people. If you're traveling with a companion, it works. Probably won't work with just yourself and two kids.

So if your 9 year old wants to go on Space Mountain, but your 4 year old doesn't want to, you can make a FP for the 9 year old and yourself for Space Mountain, and make a FP for another ride for the 4 year old and your companion at the same time. That way you aren't forgoing rides that one of your kids may want to do.

Split the park in half and do Frontier/Adventure/Liberty Sq. (+ Peter Pan) one day and Fantasyland/Tomorrowland the other. Makes your FPs much easier and has much less walking instead of criss-crossing all over the park.

Agree with 7DMT and PP. They will enjoy both and both tend to have long lines.
Are you planning to go back to the resort during the day or stay in the park all day? It makes a different on strategy.
With 2 younger kids, splitting the park in half for 2 different days does make it easier.

Planning to take a midday break after lunch. Have reservation at Be our guest on Nov 27 at 12:50pm and Crystal palace on Nov 28 at 1:00pm.

If you plan to rope drop, I would put the first FP at 10:00 and the next about 11:00 and the 3rd at 12. That gives you time to ride 1-3 rides before your first FP and plenty of time from the last FP to lunch.
As soon as you tap in the last FP, I would look to schedule your next FP for later in the afternoon when you come back to the park.
i am a fan of Touring Plans. I have not used that plan for the young kids but have had them do the custom plans and they do tend to work well.

This is a good strategy. I would actually try and book them 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30. Go on the 1st around 10:15-10:40. You should be able to get a 4th before lunch, a 5th on your way out of the park and a 6th for when you return. Keep trying to use refresh for a better ride and time. I basically abandoned our Touringplan guide after a few hours and just went where we could get FPs. The downside is that you may be on your phone too much.

Which half would be a doable goal for day 1 with the MVVCP in the evening?

Probably either area. I would not leave after lunch on a MVVCP day. I would just stay until about 4:00 when the MVVCP crowd starts coming in. Then you have the rest of the day to relax or do something else. I would add Small World, PP and the parade to the Frontier/Adventure/Liberty side. Others would have more experience than me but I think that divides it pretty well. Well unless you plan to see every character.
