We have a trip planned for the first two weeks of March, which is usually a average crowd time. Now at two months out Touring Plans has raised the expected crowd level for most parks from a 4/5 to a 9/10 !! Is this possible ?? That is like Christmas week numbers, we are really wondering if the trip will now be worth it.

It's Spring Break time. I would say that it is possible based on when schools have Spring Break and when people are booking their vacations. I think that most of March and April can be crowded. We went during Spring Break a few years ago and it wasn't as bad as we expected. But we had friends who went during their kids' Spring Break that happened to be on a different week than ours, and they said that it was completely crazy and that they would never go during Spring Break again.

Yes, read through that. The cliff notes version is that crowd calendars are totally useless.
60 days out TP can use ADR, resort and FP data to measure crowds so while a year out I agree they are useless, I would think that this close to dates they are a little more accurate, hence the adjustment.

OP, just have a good plan and the FPs you want. High crowds don’t necessarily mean a bad time. You’re allowed to feel bummed, just hope for the best :)
