Touring Plans and FoP

We are going to Disney at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb. We have always used Touring Plans with great success but I am really starting to think they may not know what's up with Flights of Passage. I've got fastpasses for FoP and on one of our Animal Kingdom days my "optimized" touring plan refuses to use the FP. It has us doing it at rope drop or park close with an estimated wait of usually around 30 minutes. Everything I've read says that this is not the experience we are going to have. We of course will use our FP when it's for because I don't have faith that it is going to work well with TP.

Anybody have an experience with TP and FoP?

I don't have experience with TP, but that 30 min rope drop wait is ONLY if you are at AK about an hour before opening. So if you do want to ride twice, you could do that. The evening wait COULD be close, but it really depends on the crowd level and how late they have you getting in the line. For me, I'd skip rope drop, use my FP, and then decide if I want to do it again at close of day.

This was the one thing I found to be super off on touring plans. I forced it to use my FP either by moving it and estimating instead of optimizing or clicking the little 'force to use fast passes' button. It kept estimating 30-45 minutes for it and within an hour of park opening it was like 240 minutes. It wanted us to rope drop Navi and then get in line for FOP!

Almost every other ride time was pretty accurate!

I'd use the "Force use of Fastpass" option for this one.

Yes, OP if you click on the Advanced Options in the FP selection it forces the algorithm to use your FPs.

Caveat this with the fact that don’t know anything about the algorithms and models they use but I’m wondering if the lack of history is messing with it. It keeps putting Na’vi river journey mid afternoon for me and calling it a 45 min wait. My guess is that it’s tryinh to say, well, it’s this busy during the busy summer time so it will be this much less busy during a slower time. But I would bet that the lines for both rides essentially saturate. They probably get so long people stop going on them so they don’t follow a proportional drop like the other rides between a busy and non busy time. That my guess anyway. I’m not a data analyst but I play one on the Dis Boards. o_O

TP is great most of the time but if you shut off common Dis sense it will get you in trouble.

Love touring plans but on occasion the algorithm has suggested using FP+ for rides like small world instead of rides like 7DMT.

I always just choose the rides I want FP+ for, book them, follow touring plans and if the wait is off while I'm there I use my FP+ instead.
