does anyone use tourplans.com? i have plans on there and was wondering if anyone would review my plans for me. It's our families first time to WDW and I would like to know if my plans are impossible or not.

Thank you.

Thank you.

It would be easier if you just posted them over here for us to critique! I will go and have a look though!

Thanks. Because i'm new to this board, i can't post links to anything yet. I'm working on my 10 posts though. soon i should have direct links to the plans.

Now i can do this:

In exactly a week from Today, DH, DD(7), and I will be taking our first trip to WDW. Was wondering if I could get some input on my touring plans to let me know if i'm dreaming with what i have scheduled for each park. I know it's just a "plan", but i'd really like to know in reality how much can honestly be accomplished in my plans. Thank you.

Don't have Epcot in yet, but plan on hitting Future world for one day, and then doing the "worlds" on another day.
Also, plan on finishing the other 2 lands in MK on another day also. the plan above is only day 1.
We will be at WDW for 7 nights. 6 days to venture.

I again Thank everyone for any suggestions.

The first thing I noticed in AK and MK is your plan to get back to back fastpasses; you have to wait until about an hour after you get one fast pass to get another. (The time you can get the next fastpass will be printed on the bottom of the first fasspast you get).

If it is just you, dh and 7 y/o I would just do the plan that is in the book and on the website. I have found with three years of doing touringplans that it ends up being the most beneficial, effective plan if you are wanting to ride/experience most everything. Anything you don't want to do on the plan, just skip to the next step. This especially works well in MK with the two day plan.

so you can't hold two fastpasses for different rides? You can only hold one fast pass in total? I thought that was just for one ride, not all of them. That bites!

Not exactly...If the window on your first FP is say, 10am - 11am, then at 10am you should be able to get another FP. If you haven't used your first one, you will have 2.

You can hold fastpasses for more than one ride BUT, once you get a fastpass, there is a time frame that you have to wait before you get any more fastpasses (ie. you get EE fastpass first thing in the morning; you usually have to wait at least an hour, or once your return time has expired - before you can get another one)

I can't comment on your touring plans since I've never been to WDW and my first trip is in Sept! I'm jealous that you are going so soon ;)

I promise, promise that these plans work even if you're spacing out your fastpasses! Like in MK, if you are there at ropedrop to do Fantasyland, you won't need ANY fastpasses to see all of those attractions in the first hour or so. We tend to split up MK, too, and usually do FL, Liberty Square and Frontierland on one day and leave Tomorrowland and part of Adventureland for another and the touring plan doesn't do it exactly that way. If you follow a plan at least until lunch I think you'll get in everything you want to do in a day.

Also, one thing I have learned with a dd who has been 5,6, and 7 on our last trips is to allow some time for autographs and pics with the characters. The ones in the parks didn't eat up too much time at once, but Toontown seemed to eat up some time. I would save it till your second MK day and stick in into the plan in the morning where you will have already done Fantasyland and Frontierland.

DHS is just hard, even with a plan because of trying to fit in the shows. Will you and dh be riding Tower of Terror and RNRC with child swap? That is what we did and still managed to stick mostly to a plan. For me, it is a very angst filled park to schedule!

I just don't see the logic in advising people to get fastpasses for three different attractions upon first entering a park like the Animal Kingdom

IT WON'T WORK. What is the visitor to do, stand around at each fastpass machine untill it's time to get another pass?

Worst planning I've ever seen.

I hope you're not knocking the OP's planning capabilities :sad2:--it was her personal plan to get three fastpasses. The touringplans plan does not advise that. She came here asking for assistance and that's what we're trying to do.

I read your AK plan first - so I'll comment on that. Big mistake getting FP for Kali first. 1. Kali doesn't always open at 9am (think it's closer to 9:30) so you won't be able to get a FP for it. While your walking to Kali - everyone else is riding/getting FP for Expedition Everest. Definitely go to EE first, obtain FP then ride. By the time you do this - you can then go to Dinoland - and then Kali. Just my 2 cents - but much more manageable. Also - as others have said - you cannot obtain a FP until your next window time. This will be printed on the bottom of the ticket. If the window is late - you may not get one for a while. Try to fit shows in, walking tours, etc in between. AK is tough to navigate sometimes cause the show times are so spread out. Same as DHS.

DHS - this tour seems reasonable - although when you ride Toy Story you'll want to get FP also - you WILL want to ride this again! The only problem in DHS is that the park is spread out and most attractions are shows that are specifically timed. Very tough to do and see all. May have to cut some out and go back another day.

Regarding the MK plan - again you will not be able to obtain 2 FP in a row. You generally don't need one for Mickey's Phillarmagic - so don't "waste" a FP opportunity on this. I've never had to wait more than 20 min for this. It's a big theater and you are not going in prime time. Your DD is 7 - I would definitely see the parade vs Storytime with Belle (unless she's a die hard Belle fan). The parade is great. Regarding Dumbo, Aladdin and carousel - these are midway rides with long loading/unloading times. Don't be afraid to skip to do something else, shop, see characters, take in the sights etc. Unless your child has their heart set.

Keep the comments coming! Thank you to those so far. REMEMBER - this is our FIRST visit, so up until today - i didn't know you could only get one fastpass at a time (for all rides) I thought it meant for just one ride. I have already learned a few things and know i need to change things a bit - but please keep the comments/suggestions coming.

Thank you!:worship:

She is a Big Belle fan - so i know we have to fit that one in. But i may save it for day 2 also.
The Carosel has the horses, so that is a must too!
Anything in the plan is what is on top of our list. It's so hard with this being our first visit - and i don't see up going back again anytime soon; so we have to make the most of it with this one trip!

it's comments like these i'm looking for. Thankyou!

I planned on doing more of the Autograph such stuff on Day 2 Plan because i know that day is a bit less "do it all!" and she will be more willing to wait a bit for autograph time seeing we already did a lot of things on Day 1.
DH and I will NOT be doing tower of terror or the other. He can't handle anything toooo drastic and I have to watch that i don't set off my Vertigo!! (kinda stinks!)

Sounds fine - everyone has their "must dos". Just wanted you to know that the midway rides take a long time to load, ride and then unload so the waits are endless - versus something like Peter Pan which is a continual loading so moves faster. I totally understand about wanting to make the most of it.
