Touring Plan Needed?

When we went to WDW, I had researched all rides, and with FP+ booked, i had a whole plan of what rides and when for each day. I'm now starting to panic as I haven't thought about this at all (I know I still have 4 months, but feel like real planning takes time).

Is this needed at Disneyland? The only thing I've started to think is what to try for a first FastPass for on each of our 4 days...but nothing past that. I do have the Touring Plans Lines app but don't know how to separate the rides into 4 days (we have park hoppers so rides at same park isn't required). Guess it doesn't help that I don't even know the night entertainment or hours yet.

Disneyland... Try to go on days without Early Magic Hour / Magic Morning. Alway get to the main entrance 30 minutes before the park opens.
8am-930am: As soon as the rope drops, you want to head toward the Matterhorn, make a slight left and go around the Matterhorn and grab Fastpass for it. Then ride Alice in Wonderland first, then ride Mr Toad, Dumbo, Casey Jr, Pinocchio, Snow White, grab FP for Indiana Jones, ride Jungle Cruise, use FP for Matterhorn.
Note: If the park opens at 9am, only ride Alice and Matterhorn without FP. Save everything else, when you have done the things below.

930am-1130am: ride Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, grab FP for Space Mountain. Use FP for Indiana Jones, ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Do not worry if the line looks long for Pirates, it will move fast.

1130am: Lunch

1230pm: When you can collect your next FP, it should be for Star Tours. The next FP should be for any attraction that you want to experience again.
Note: In Tomorrowland, you can save Buzz Astroblasters, Nemo, and Autopia for later at night, preferably after the Fireworks.

Make sure to download the free DLR app. It will really help you keep track of wait times, FP availability and return times, and other info to keep you organized throughout your day.

DLRExpert, thank yhou so much. I am going to write down your suggestion. Even if we don't follow it exactly, it's a great shell to follow. We have 4 park days and was thinking of getting our first Fast Pass on each day for: Indiana Jones, Soarin, Star Tours (my son loves this) and Radiator Springs. If we don't get a dining package for WOC (may get this) and Fantasmic, then will try a FastPass for those too. My son loves Splash from WDW so will probably also grab a FP for that too at some point.

theluckyrabbit, thank you. I do have the app. At first we weren't going to have a data plan so wouldn't have been able to use it (since we're Canadian) but have recently decided we will purchase one of the roaming plans.

We did WDW in April, 2014, and I planned the bejeezus out of it, out of necessity. I was obsessed. So, when we did DLR in August, 2015, I figured I had to plan it to the hilt, too. Man, was THAT a waste of time! I don't want to go back to WDW now, because I just don't want to have to do that much planning.

Thanks Winnowill. I was the same with WDW but I honestly loved the planning. Good to know it is not needed for DL.
