Tour Tipping Help

We have booked a 14-day private tour through Belgium/France. It is with the owner of his own tour company -- he is the driver and guide (no helpers). So we aren't sure whether, when we pay him for the tour, do we also tip him? If so, how much? Thanks much.

Thanks. I didn't want to offend him by not tipping. Yes, maybe we can buy him lunches on our tour days, or coffee on our early morning. Thanks for the tips.
