Tour of Hollywood/LA

Can anyone recommend a good tour company for the Hollywood/LA area that would be suitable and of interest to children (ages 10 & 5) as well......where are they located in location to the DLH......probably not interested in star homes as much as the general sights and studios...thanks

Google "Gray Line Anaheim" and take the first listing. Haven't tried them but it looks like what you might be after.

Sorry, I can't remember the name, but when we were leaving our hotel one day we saw a stretch limo picking people up (in Anaheim) for a day tour of Hollywood and surrounds. It was pricier than a bus, but if there were 3 or 4 people I reckon it would work out cheaper and probably be a lot more fun.

Anyone know the name of this outfit?

We are leaving next Thursday for a 10 day trip of California. We are starting in San Francisco and ending at DL. My DH wanted to do a bus tour of Hollywood and LA. I did a web search on "Hollywood Tours" and found several bus companies. Then I came across a limo company called American Limo. They had private sedan tours starting at $45 per hour. There are only 3 of us so I booked a sedan with them. They also had limos for more money. I think a 6 person was 58 per hour. I figured it will cost me a little more than the bus tour but we won't be waiting for other people to be picked up and dropped off and we can see exactly what we want to see.

I'll post how it went when we get back.

To answer the original question: We just took our kids (9, 8, and 5 years old) on the VIP Tours 1/2 day City tour. It was 9:15 to about 3:15 and we stopped 3 times to get off the bus. We had a fun lunch at Farmer's Market and stopped also in Hollywood at Mann's and again at Olvera Street. For us, it was a good way to see the sites and not have to drive into the city! VIP Tours has an office on Harbor drive, about 1/2 block north of the Disneyland parking that is on Harbor. It was a long day, but the "1/2 day" tour was better for the kids.
