I cannot believe at this late date I'm able to get some of the ADR's I have.

I booked in late November and have been working hard to get the reservations my birthday boys have asked for.

Garden Grill in Epcot (D) 12/21
50's Prime Time (L) 12/22
Crystal Palace (L) 12/23
Hollywood and Vine (L) 12/24
Sci-Fi (D) 12/24
Liberty tree tavern (D) 12/25
Chef Mickeys (B) 12/28

I am also SO glad I finally decided to upgrade from the free quick service to the DDP. I paid $267 (holiday surcharge) to upgrade and looking at the above table services alone we are talking over $700. Plus I still have the 7 counter services and snacks.

Free dining rocks! AND being very diligent on ADR website does too!

Anyone else getting lucky with your ADRs.

We leave in 10 days to celebrate an 8th birthday, 6th birthday and one year anniversary of surviving chemo-radiation!!! Yahoo! Disney...here we come!

Good for you, some of those are pretty good!! Enjoy your trip and have fun eating.

(I agree, FD is a fabulous option for a discount)

I must admit I had some "nicer" ADR's for places I wanted to visit but traveling solo with three boys I kept it to places I know they will enjoy. And I thought during holiday season, seeing the characters in the park will result in looong lines so that is why I chose mostly character dining (photo ops)

I'm still going to try for Ohana. I'm not giving up. :worship:

looks like it will be a fun and exciting trip for all of you. i would think that if you score where your family wants to go at a time you want to go, it's a "run back the kick off and score a touchdown" kinda day!

Congrats on all your celebrations...and those ADRs look like great fun for the kids. Agree 100% that's the way to see characters-even when parks are not busy you will so often wait in line in the parks. So much nicer to sit & enjoy a meal while the characters come to your table:thumbsup2

I just added

Via Napoli 12/27 (D)
and
Donalds Safari Breakfast 12/26

I will pay out of pocket or make cancellations....if I gave you control of my ADR's what changes would you make???? :confused3

The general consensus is that Sci-Fi is a poor use of dining credits. I would drop it or pay oop.

Good to know. Thanks. Maybe I'll keep the ADR and we will go there for dessert or milk shakes. At least experience the atmosphere for the boys.

We are pulling a last minute trip as well for Christmas week and scored awesome ADR's which blows my mind. We are using the DxDP so I had to work a bit harder:

12/18 2:00 PM - Planet Hollywood
12/18 5:05 PM - Spirit of Aloha Show
12/19 9:40 PM - Trail's End Restaurant
12/19 5:05 PM - 1900 Park Fare
12/20 10:35 AM - Ohana
12/20 6:15 PM - Hollywood Brown Derby
12/21 1:25 PM - Coral Reef
12/21 7:30 PM - Biergarten
12/22 7:30 AM - Boma
12/22 5:00 PM - Hoop-Dee-Doo Review
12/23 9:05 AM - Cinderella's Royal Table
12/23 6:05 PM - Cap'n Jack's Restaurant
12/24 8:00 AM - Grand Floridian Cafe

We are doing a last minute very quick trip Christmas week as well. I was able to pull together:

Ohana for dinner
Akershus for dinner
Crystal Palace for breakfast and lunch

Other than this, we are going to do CS, so I'm pretty happy. In fact, I am considering cancelling the CP lunch reservation because it will be overkill on the Characters, and we'll be doing the breakfast the next day there anyway.

Congrats on the good ressies. It's encouraging to know that we can actually get these with a little persistence, even when doing short notice trips!

Your 12/18 day doesn't look good with a 3 hour gap. Won't you be eating at Planet Hollywood then, after lunch getting ready for the Show to make it there by 5 pm. But I like all your choices. Just thought I'd point that out.

That is about what happened. We finished up at Hollywood Studios and before we knew it we were heading to Spirit of Aloha. Bigger gap on that next time.

awesome ADRs guys!

We have
12/25: Hoop de Doo (7:15)
12/26: Cinderella's Royal Table (lunch, 12:15)
12/26: La Hacienda de San Angel (dinner, 7:00)
12/27: Restaurant Marrakesh (CP dinner package, 5:45)
12/28: Kona Cafe (breakfast, 11:10)

I can't wait!

From personal experience - I would pay OOP for the breakfast buffets before paying for Sci Fi, or another TS meal. We paid OOP for Sci Fi & another meal last year thinking it would be less expensive going that route. We would have been better off to pay OOP for breakfast at Crystal Palace or Tusker House, and that was with passing on desserts at Sci Fi.

I would look at the menus & see what you think you might order. Don't forget to add the cost of beverages, etc - and then decide which meals you will be better off paying OOP for.

Good luck, & have fun!!

i made these reservations within the last HALF HOUR! maybe not a big deal to everyone on here, but these were ones that i had made for the week that just passed and had to cancel so i'm so happy i was able to snag them up!

12/27 - crystal palace breakfast and plaza dinner
12/28 - sci fi dine in for both lunch and dinner (will likely cancel dinner; just need to confirm with the rest of my party that lunch is the better choice); 50s prime time lunch in case we do decide to stick with sci fi dinner
12/29 - chefs de france lunch (we did this last week and loved it!) and le cellier dinner (heard this was impossible to get, especially only a few days out!!! there were still some available when i searched different party sizes for those who don't mind eating late!)
12/30 - plaza lunch (hoping we like it from 12/27 because it seems extremely reasonable price-wise)

happy holidays to all, and good luck hunting for last-minute ADRs!
