ToTers We are next up!!!!

Can I join in? DH and I will be there! We did the RFTT 10K last year and had a BLAST! I've never done a night race before. I thought the ToT started at 9:30 but when I checked the site the other day, the race start time was 10 pm! Yikes! We're going to need a nap before the race! Is there anything different that you do to prepare for a night race? We have 5:30 ressies at the Flying Fish cafe (we're also staying at BWV) that evening but I'm thinking about cancelling it. What is everyone doing about dinner? Just eat light and hope for the best?
Sure you can join! Welcome! If you are having dinner at Flying Fish, personally I don't think that is a problem. I guess you've got to make the decision for yourself, but seems to me that you've got plenty of time to digest and enjoy the event.

Monte, you're cute.

This will be my first night race also. It will be strange running at that time but I'm looking forward to the experience & riding the RockNRoller Coaster & TOT afterwards! :woohoo:

Getting so excited about this!!:dance3: :cheer2: :yay: :cool1:

And if the weather is anything like we've had the past couple nights (minus the rain), it will be perfect. We're getting into our cooler less humid evenings here in FL!!

Starting to have a minor freak out about this race! the longest training distance I'll have done by then is 5 or 6 miles. When I did the 15K in May I trained to 8 miles. I am trying to treat this as a fun race especially since the time limit is generous. The party is in the back of the pack right?? :cool1:

I'm stressing as well - I started working out for this at the beginning of the year planning to run, and then I got a stress fracture and even after all the healing, it still hurts too much for me to run. Friends convinced me to sign up anyways and just walk it (especially once it switched to the 18 minute/mile pace) - I've walked 13k a few times so I know I *can* do it, but even at the slower pace if I'm not careful my legs hurt too much to finish.

But I'll be there, at the back of the pack, walking just in front of the sweepers and bribing them if I have to - I REALLY want that medal!

I'm so happy for you that you are going to do this. PD that you can take it easy and get the bling!

Amy, you'll have fun and won't even be worried after you get going.

Checking in.........John and I will be there! We're also staying at BWV aka Party Central.
Looking forward to connecting with old friends and meeting new WISHers!

So jealous of everyone staying at BWV!! But we did decide to stay for an additional night to make 3 nights, and I booked it at all star music for 54 dollars!!! The other 2 nights we are at CSR.

No dining ressies yet though. :scared1: :scared1:

KIM thanks for the reminder, Off to the Dollar store for Glow stick thingies.

Amy and Figment: You are both going to be fine. You'll see, the excitement of the event is going to give you such an adrenalin rush you'll be stronger and faster than you ever imagined. Of course, you really don't want to be too fast since the moving party at TofT is all about being in the back. Don't worry, we'll all stick together and no one will be swept.

About the glo sticks....it took me about 5 minutes to realize that there is a small colored circle very near the top of the pack that indicates the color of the stick. I really had to look hard to find it, but it's there.

DH is running the TOT and we'll all be at the party!

This is a surprise trip for the kids - can't wait. We leave in 9 days.

We're staying at YC.

Hope to meet some Dissers!!!!

A couple of ideas:

Last year the Tower of Terror gift shop had leftover event items on sale! And, there is a regularly sold Tower of Terror photo album for all the great pics from this years race.

I am so excited!!

Scored a couple of packs of Glow Sticks at Target a couple of nights ago, one multi color and one pack orange, it is Halloween,

yes we did, can't wait but many an adventure to be had before 2010. DVC is great!!!!!

Scott, I just posted this on the other board, but John and I will be doing that cruise also. It's a good thing it's so far away because we are going to need all that time to save for it!

Can't wait to see all the TofT'ers again!

Wahooo you guys are lucky. Way to rich for my bank account. I believe we are doing a Med cruise in 2010 or 2011 but it won't be DCL at those prices. Royal Caribbean has some great Med Cruises I will be watching for there releases.

Would not be doing it unless we had DVC, went down a Cat or two so we could have some points for WDW trips.

Thanks for these ideas..I really like the idea of the photo album.

Getting SUPER excited about this race! :dance3: :dance3:

I'll definitely be at the race sort of "solo" since there is no way DD will make it to the 10 pm start. DH will be back at CSR with her. Last year when we were at Disney at this time of year, she was probably still considered a newborn (less than 4 months) and she slept alot of the time. She was at MNSSHP until the very end!!
