I have seen this on one step ahead and was curious if anyone has any experience with it? And how you like it? We are taking the train and I was going to bring my 2 year olds seat and check it as baggage, but this seat I could put in the bottom of his diaper bag or in the suitcase! It is a 5 point harness with a padded back rest that hooks up to the cars seat belt. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks
I bought one, thinking it would be good on the transfer bus from MCO to the Disney Cruise Terminal. Unfourtnately the bus doesn't have seatbelts (luckly I found this out before we went), so it's still in the box. We are going to bring our carseats for our 1 & 2 yr olds, the 2yr old is small for her size, so I would rather have her seat.
I don't know about this one specifically but I think I've seen similar. Keep in mind that the shell of a car seat provides quite a lot of protection in the event of a crash; it's not just about keeping a child from flying out of the seat (though that obviously matters!). This is why a car seat that has been in even a minor accident should be replaced; there can be unseen damage from stress. Despite all the inconvenience, I'd sure go with the real thing.
We borrowed one of these to use on our last trip with our then almost 3 year old DD. We should have tried it ahead of time. I did not like it at all. Both DH and I tried to install it and neither one could get it to fit tightly against the seat back. I was nervous the whole time we used it and would definitely bring a regular carseat next time.
Thank you all! I think we will be using his regular seat! We are going to be doing a lot of driving around on our vacation. I would never forgive myself if (god forbid!!!!!) something happened to him. Thank you all for the info!
