OK, this is off the wall, I know but I figured someone here would know. I used to love Who's the Boss "back in the day". I have been watching reruns on the Hallmark channel off and on (yes, I need to get out more).

My question is...who is the kid living with them (timeframe when Samantha is off to college)? Billy I think his name is? Did they adopt him?

I have no idea why this is bothering me, but I just have to know. :rotfl2:

ETA...I do find it slightly distressing to see Sam's clothes and know I wore them in high school.

I love Who's the Boss, I set my DVR to record all the episodes. I loved the name Samantha since I used to watch the show. My daughters name is Samantha because of the show.
Billy is the grandson of one of Tony's friends I believe and she had hip surgery so they took care of him.

I believe the grandmother is the older lady who lived in their building and watched Sam when she was little.

I named my DD19 Alyssa because Alyssa Milano was such a pretty little girl! I have no idea who the boy was, I never watched the later seasons.

I have too much time on my hands...slow work night

By the fall of 1990, with Samantha in the beginning of college and Jonathan in high school, Who's the Boss?, like other series getting on in years, added a new younger cast member. Producers brought in 5-year-old Billy (Jonathan Halyalkar), a kid from the Micellis' old Brooklyn neighborhood, who frequently visited the Bower residence to the point that he seemingly lived there. Billy was a comic foil to Tony, but also attempted to get into the mix in other character's storylines. He only lasted that season however. In the E! True Hollywood Story about the series, Katherine Helmond remarked that Halyalkar was a gifted performer, but had difficulty catching up to the pace of the acting and timing the senior cast members had long established with each other.

Been on Wikipedia? The only reason I know this is because I did the same thing last night at work because we wanted to know about Billy to. We have been catching it starting at 4am until 6am on the Hallmark Channel.

OP I had a few of the same things she wore too. I remember this one Esprit sweater she had & I had it to but mine was mainly pink.

OH & I used to laugh during the beginning credits & they'd show Tony's van getting off the exit for Fairfield, CT on the Merritt Parkway. But that exit that they got off was for Westport, CT.

But of course! It was the first result when I googled. :)

I have been watching the re-runs on the Hallmark Channel as well. When I first watched WTB in the 80's, I identified with the Samantha character, now its Angela:lmao:

I LOVE the 80's clothes and hairstyles! It's like watching a fashion history of my life before my very eyes. So many times I think, "I had a sweater just like that." Or, "Those pants look awful, I had a pair just like them. I bet they looked awful on me as well!"

I babysit my 9-year old neice a couple of nights a week. She started watching WTB with me and just LOVES it. She now has me recording episodes on the nights she is not there so she doesn't miss anything. Makes me remember how much I loved watching sitcoms when I was a kid and how now there are very few shows that the whole family can enjoy together.

I know I will lose interest once I have seen all seven years, but its been really fun for a few months.

My DD10 is named Alyssa after Alyssa Milano as well, but its because DH had a crush on her when she was on Charmed.

Men. :sad2:
