I am looking for somewhere in Canada that might sell old-fashioned style nightgowns for a child of about 10. My dd wants to be Clara from the Nutcracker for Halloween. If I can't buy one, I can definitely make it but we're selling our house right now so I'm pretty busy.

so hard to find. dd ballet class needed these last year and we ended up getting a seamstress to do for about 40. dd is almost out of hers and wants another, so if you have luck let me know

They're almost impossible to find due to fire safety standards for children's sleepwear... If you can't find anything at a second hand store, and don't want to pay a fortune, best bet is probably to make one...

Depending how authentic you want to get, but you might be able to make do looking at the old lady style gowns at Walmart or Zellers in an extra-small size. You could maybe add ribbon bows or something to make it old-style looking.

I too was going to say Old lady nightgowns at the thrift store or zellers/ walmart - not sure of your DD's height but many old ladies are not tall and many cheap flannel nighties shrink BIG time.

Its halloween, its going to be dark, they'll do the trick!

They're not cheap, but American Girl has a similar-style nightgown in the 'Kit Kittredge' section.

Thanks for the replies.:) Found one at Value Village (very similar to the "Samantha" American Girl nightgown) for $5! Got to love Value Village!

Yayy! :thumbsup2 Value Village is amazing when it comes to Halloween costumes... I think its great all the time too. I love shopping there!
