I'm doing an essay(1 of 4) on marketing and I have to base it on an organisation of my choice - I've picked United Vacations and have just finished the 1st essay on nature and characteristics but now I've got a tricky one.
I have to identify and solve creatively problems for marketing challenges. As I've picked the UK company I've picked up on security, safety, harder visa requirements, longer waiting times at chek in and immigrations. Now i just have to 'creatively' solve those issues. I know you guys come from all walks of life, are all ages etc so if you were really concerned with these issues what would you be looking for when you went to a travel agent and started flicking through all the brochures? Is there anything apart from price issues etc that would make you stop and think 'hmmm that would be a help' even if were just a word of warning about long waiting lines at check in or the increased safety shecks for your convenience??

Phew - just about written another essay there!!!
Thanks if anyone can help in any little way. i have posted over on the UK boards as well but i'm trying to spread the research:p

I always want to know what security/check in procedures I can expect when traveling. Even if I know I can't do anything to make it go faster I would like to know what is being done. Those were some of my main questions when I was traveling to WDW this summer. I just wanted to know what to expect and I suppose others want to know the same thing.

I hope this helps.

I agree that just knowing the procedures and what to expect makes me feel better. What documents is each area (security, immigration, check in) going to want to see? Maybe the company could create a document folder with clear plastic pouches labeled with each document so you can just put each one in it's pouch and you'll know which area will want to see it (maybe color tabs?) - you can keep all the documents in one place?

How about a list of what you are no longer allowed to carry on a plane, or a list of what things are most likely to set off the metal detector in security (belt buckles, watches, pocket change, etc)?

Good luck on your paper!!

I would worry about the travel agency itself. In my area, a lot of people lost their money when a well-known agency went bankrupt. They encouraged their customers to pay by check rather than credit card for a sizable discount. Needless to say, these people lost their money.

Also, there is still some question about how early to get to the airport before a flight. On our last WDW trip, we were flying out early in the morning and got there 2 hours early. Nothing was open yet, and those arriving an hour after us still had no problem making the flight.

The idea of a list of common items that set off the detectors at the airport is an excellent idea.
