Totally Off Topic!

Wasn't quite sure where to post this, but as I've gotten to know many of you, I know you are all quite fond of helping each other with advice and tips, now I am hoping you all can help me with something else!

A dear friend of mine who is currently stationed in Iraq has never been to Disney World, and as a promise, my family and I will be taking him when he returns sometime in late 2007. Sam is only 21 years old and was recently wounded. He is in high spirits, and never lets anything bad get to him!

I'd love to send him some great tips and park advice to keep him company overseas. I'm looking for people who would be willing to sign a card or postcard and include some fun Disney trivia, facts, tips, or anything else!

For confidentially purposes, I can not supply anyone with his address overseas, but if anyone would like to participate, please PM me and I'll send you my address so that I could forward all well wishes to him!

Have you thought about sending him a book about WDW? There are so many WDW travel books, I am sure he would love to read about it as well as see some pictures.

My favorite is Birnbaum's Walt Disney World. It is awesome!

To anyone else who is thinking about helping out, cards/postcards do not have to contain a Disney character or anything, just something fun to keep him busy while he is recooperating with kind words and some fun trivia!

As a firm believer in "planning is half the fun," I'd love to send your friend something! Please PM me your info and I'll get something in the mail by next week!

Also, have you thought about ordering the personalized maps from the Disney website? When they arrive you could send them along to him too.

As for planning books, I've been a fan of the Unofficial Guide forever. Since he's young, he might enjoy the irreverent way it is written.

I have been working on my scrapbook so this was perfect timing! I got your PM and have a card and several WDW pictures (with funny things writting on the back of each one) to share. Hope he enjoys them! I will be putting them in the mail in about an hour -- stamps are already on the envelope! Thanks for giving us this opportunity to say, "THANK YOU" to our heroes who serve in the military. God bless and protect them all.
