I spent way way more than I planned a month ago!! :confused3 Do you ever just lose your mind and go on a spending spree?? I planned on spending $600-$700 this year. But, my husband went hunting and bagged a really nice buck, he wanted to get it mounted, so I agreed and said okay that's your big Christmas present, $1000 later. Then, I just decided to go all out and ask him for some furniture for Christmas to finish off the gameroom and media room. Finally, I went shopping for DD14 almost 15 and went way over my intended limit. I think by the time all is said and done we will have spent 5K. :scared1: Of course we would have bought most of it in the next 6 months or so, but I just didn't want to wait and used Christmas as an excuse. Before anyone asks, no we didn't go into debt, but it will delay me putting more towards paying off my house quicker. I just wanted to splurge!:santa:

Well what is really the Christmas presents??

Just cause you spent a few grand recently, doesn't mean that it's on presents. It just means you took advantage of really good holiday sales.

You know what? You finished your new year's resolution before the new year. So you can pat yourself on the back for it.

I know what you mean... we budgeted $500, and I think it's going to total about $600-$650. That extra money is going to have to come from somewhere and I'm not sure where yet.

We decided to "scale back" this year as the kids really haven't asked for anything.

Then we decided to buy a sectional and TV for the downstairs as our holiday gift to the family. So, 2K later it doesn't seem like we "scaled back" at all as that's way more than we usually spend.

But the sales were good and we would have purchased it soon anyway. (Just not sure how we're going to hide a couch from the kids for 2 days..)
