I think I got a handle on the diffference between TS and CS. But just to clarify in my mind. Pretty much all CS is walk up (like at the resorts) and TS is actually being seated by someone. I am saving up 2TS credits for CRT the last day we are there, so I am worried about accidently using a TS credit for something. And a snack credit for CS.
Is everything pretty much clearly marked as to what is a SC and CS... am I just looking too much into this??? lol

Think of it like this. TS is a sit down restaurant where you have a server and you need a reservation to eat there. So you most likely know all of the TS you are eating. CS is like fast food, think McDonald's and the like. You cannot use snack credits for CS or vice versa. The system is set up so you have X number of TS, Y number of CS and Z number of snack credits. Their machine will only deduct from the category it is supposed to. You don't actually do anything other than hand over your card. Everything that is included in the plan is pretty clearly indicated on the menu boards. You will see the purple dining plan emblem next to the item. At the bottom of your receipts, it will tell you how many credits you have left.

If you stand at a counter, order the food yourself, pick up the food, and carry it to a table yourself, you're at a counter service.

If there is a host to seat you, and a server who comes to you to take your order and bring your check, then it's a table service (this includes buffets).

I was worried the first time we used the DDP, but it was VERY easy once we got there.

It is probably next to impossible to use up a TS credit accidentally. Buffets (like Boma, Crystal Palace, etc) are all counted as TS. There is at least one CS where you are often seated and it has waiters and that is Wolfgang Puck Express, however, it counts as a CS credit only! :yay:

Most counter service places (like McDonalds - where you order the food with someone and then pick it up from someone else) are also pretty foolproof.

However, at food courts you could "accidently" use a CS when you meant to use a snack credit. So those are the places you would have to watch out for. The menues and CM's will help here, but it all comes down to the CM at the register, as to what they count as a snack or a CS.

For instance, at the Sassagoula Food Court, we got two CS and two snack credits - which we verified with the CM at the window - however, when we got to the cash register, the CM claimed we had 4 CS! So I had to stand at the waste basket (conveniently located at the cash register) and throw away the "extra" food items (2 slices of toast and 1/2 an oatmeal) to be down-graded to 2CS and 2snacks. Out of control CM? Maybe. What a waste of food! You would have thought that if one CM said it, the other CM would have allowed it, but NO! she insisted I throw the food out.

Yikes! We are staying at POFQ!
That seems crazy! Some CM was obviously having a bad day!

thanks for all the help!

As everyone said it is much clearer when you are there.

It is very easy to see when you enter a place if it is TS or CS. When you walk in and see everyone in lines with cashiers and a counter like McDonalds that is CS.
If someone greets you at a podium (with a host/hostess) then that is TS.

It isn't hard when you are standing there.
