So I did a practice run this morning to "hunt" times for the 60 day windows for ADR's....well as of 7:09EST there is nothing showing up at all for 05/30. I jumped over to WDW site and plenty of places were open, I could have even made reservations at a few of the harder ADRs. (so there is hope for those who do not have the +10.

  • On the App 5/30 is open to choose (highlighted blue) but it cannot find any reservations for any restaurants.
  • On the web site main restaurant search page , 5/30 isn't even highlighted...BUT ....on the individual restaurant pages , it is....but still no availability.
What the heck is the deal here?

I thought, like WDW, ADR's open 60 days before your stay?

So here is a list of WTH questions

1. Do ADR's open at 60 days for Dl or not?

2. Is it correct , no +10 for DL

3. Is it correct ADRs are suppose to open at 6:00 AM EST or 3PDT?

Honestly I only want ONE reservation, and that's Oga's. I am kinda planning my trip around getting that one reservation. What gives? Anyone know?

P.S feel free to list your favorite eating spots!

Reservations are supposed to drop at 60 days but it’s not as precise as WDW. Some open that day, some the next day, etc. Some drop at the 6am mark some don’t.

There is no +10 at DL. You can only reserve at the 60 day mark for each day of your trip. So yes, that does mean you have to look for reservations every single day, you can’t make them all at once.

DLR ADR opening time is more like a guideline. Not at all like WDW’s precise scheduling.
This. I had zero luck 60 days out, but a few weeks later got several and within a couple weeks of our trip had all the ADRs I wanted, and was even able to move them around once onsite due to schedule changes. Set an alert for the really important ones, and you should be fine. It’s not the machine that WDW is.

EDIT: I see you are most interested in Oga’s - there is a walk up waitlist if for some reason you don’t snag one. Set those alerts and you should be fine.

DL doesn’t drop like clockwork the way WDW does.

It’s frustrating! Been there, done that. It stinks!!

I learned the best way to make sure to get the reservations is with Mouse Dining. I don’t have push notifications for email, so I paid the monthly fee for text alerts. It was worth it to me to get all the reservations I wanted. (Thanksgiving weekend - Blue Bayou, Oga’s, Carthay Circle, Napa Rose, Carnation Cafe, Trader Sam’s)

Good luck!

When we went last October, Oga's randomly dropped at some point in the middle of a random day well after the 60 day mark. By the time I knew it had dropped, which was maybe 10 minutes later, they were all gone except for a first thing in the morning reservation- which is not exactly conducive to having an alcoholic beverage.

I recommend you set alerts with the 2 alert services for text alerts-- mouse dining and mouse watcher. I was able to pick up good reservations for Oga's through those services before our trip. I left those alerts active and in the days right before during our trip, I got texts over and over for OGA's ADRs during our trip. We already had ours for 2 days at times we liked so we were set. I can't remember which service, but one service would sometimes turn off the alert if it sent you one and you clicked through even if you didn't get it, so you will want to check and be sure your alerts are still showing as active. I also found that sometimes it was faster to go through the Disney app and try to grab the reservation once you got the alert instead of trying to click through the alert.

They also typically had a walk up list in the evenings at Oga's. The app would show the waitlist was full, but when people went up and asked, they usually got put in a line to get in. Don't know if they are still doing it, but we had later evening reservations both nights we did Oga's and were were also in Galaxy's Edge later at night most evenings as DD likes Smuggler's Run and she found the line was short and she could do it over and over, and we saw them doing it every night we were there.

Geez, I am all for the laid back California attitude.....but not with my ADR's!!!!

I am seriously OCD about the food reservations....since we are foodies and all. It kinda how we plan our days. I used to have all my FP set up and ADR's and work the day around those for our WDW trips. Now with G+ I cannot even plan the day of where to be in the park with any reasonable assurance that its going to work. I suspect Dl will be behaving like WDW is now this summer in regard to G+.

I mean...so you gotta pay to get ADR's now? And of course will because what choice do you have if you want a must have experience? I wonder what the chances are that these site are booking times' to release later themselves at a "fee" (scalping ADR's has always been a thought people have had)

So basically , hunt every few minutes of every day starting at 6am 60days out and hope you get the reservations you want?

Well that's not stressful at all.

the majority of the restaurants open up at 60 days out on time (now 6am PST) on most days.

yes, there are some that do not. yes, it is extremely annoying. yes, it was nearly as bad pre-covid. yes, it is worse since covid.

However:
It is not really as bad as it is made out to be in this thread.

Also note: WDW wasn't perfect by any means. Yes, it was "better" than DL, but their dessert parties, and even dining packages were notorious for not coming out on time, and every once in a while even some of the restaurants had issues.

So , here is a question. I see it opened up for today at 9am. Is is safe to assume Oga's is gone?? How do I know if it even opened up? Its basically says the same message......No times available as it did this morning......do I have to actually talk to a human (after being on hold for several hours?)

oga's sells out within minutes. The seating area is very limited, and they need to keep some tables open for walk ups. If you missed the opening, it is gone, unless someone cancels.
You can still do walkups on the day of, or sign up for a pager service.

You don’t have to pay, if you get instant push notifications from email you can do it for free. I just get too many emails to want that as a push notification.

I honestly don’t think they are scalping. Touring Plans does 2 for free for WDW, and I went to WDW over Halloween, so I had mouse Dining for both WDW and DL at the same time. TP gave notifications at the same time as Mouse Dining.

Yeah, I spent the $9. I rolled my eyes over it too. But I figured I’m dropping enough cash on Disney, what’s $9 more to get the restaurants I want. Annoying? Absolutely. But I’m working with what I can at the moment. I just didn’t want to keep stalking the app.

The restaurants that sell out within minutes or less (sometimes seconds during some holidays):
Blue Bayou (when open)
Oga's
Trader Sam's
Lamplight Lounge

Ones that sell out within an hour or less:
Carthay Circle
Cafe Orleans

Ones that may not sell out in first hour but will likely sell out that day:
Carnation Cafe
Most of the restaurants in GCH with ADR

Ones that usually do NOT sell out or sell out days/weeks later:
River Belle
Wine Country Trattoria
Goofy's Kitchen
Most of the Downtown Disney restaurants.

I am not including the dining packages or dessert parties, since we are not sure how they are going to work yet or how much room will be devoted towards them, but in the past, they usually sold out, but usually only after a few days or weeks.

I had luck with my trip for mid May at 6am pst. I got Oga's and I had even already booked a reservation before that, so I think I got mine at probably 6:10! It didn't seem too bad, I also slept just past 6 most days and still got that one and Lamplight. So I'd say not to worry if you can get on the app right at 9am your time you'll be fine.

Big thanks to everyone here.....We cannot change the system so....I guess stalking is the key.

Great info. I am still working out what ADR's we want to do. I cannot see wasting any ADR's for breakfast, as we want to rope drop. Unless someone thinks there is an ADR worth it for Breakfast?

Hoping Blue Bayou is open for summer.

Trader Sams is already on the must do list, along with Oga.

Had great success with Mouse Watcher for Blue Bayou in September. Also did walk up for Oga’s and Trader Sams with no issue during a *very* busy week.

There are lots of good QS breakfasts at DLR (Ronto Wrap, Chimichanga, Beast Breakfast Burger, Galactic Grill I’m looking at you) I personally would not schedule a breakfast. I liked our ADRs for a later lunch or dinner.

As for breakfast...I usually do those around 10:30 so it's more like brunch. Carnation Cafe or Lamplight Lounge (LL brunch could be as late as 1:00 on Fri-Sun).

I'm pasting my reply from a previous post about how I got my Oga's reservation:

"The first 3 days I tried at 6am on the dot for Oga's and Trader Sam's and I was always too late. The 4th day I opened the window for Oga's and put in the date and time I wanted. Then I reloaded my computer every 2 seconds starting at 5:59. I finally got that reservation. I did that the next day for Trader Sam's, too. All of the other ones I had no trouble getting at 6am or even 6:10. I used my phone and my computer some mornings to book two things at once. Make sure you are logged in before you start searching. Those lost seconds can make a big difference right at 6."

The only ADR I would do for breakfast on a park day is Minnie's Breakfast, and then only once they add back the regular interactions, obviously only if you want a character breakfast. Even then, I would schedule Minnie's breakfast after 10am, so that you can have prime rope drop attractions done beforehand.

The hotel character breakfasts (goofy's, princess breakfast, and storyteller's) I would do on a non-park day.

The lamplight lounge brunch (only on certain days) is also good, but that also is later in the morning.

Otherwise, eating at your hotel, or a quick service is best.

I was up at 5:45am ....but since it seemed like nothing loaded till 9am it didn't matter.
I have to work all three days my ADR's go live...so I guess iwork is just going to have to suffer those days. ;)
