ToT or RnR first at RopeDrop?

We’re planning on riding ToT and RnR at Ropedrop, but am unsure as to what order would be the best to do them in due to ToT currently running at reduced capacity.

I had planned to ride RnR first due to ToT being a longer ride, and therefore presumably hitting longer queues at RnR afterwards, but now I’m not sure what to do for the best.

I’m using a personalised Touring Plan, but I know that the program doesn’t handle RopeDrops very effectively, so I was hoping someone on here could give me a better idea please?

It’s an 08:00 EMH opening on 26th May (the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend) if that makes any difference, and I wasn’t planning on getting through the gates until around 07:40, as I’ve got two young kids.

Any help would be much appreciated.

TIA.

TOT is currently running only one side due to scheduled maintenance. More of the crowds will continue to go to Toy Story land, but many who were unable to get fast passes for TOT may begin there.

Normally I would say RNRC then TOT but I've been hearing people say that TOT FPs are hard to come by with the reduced capacity. So it might be better to go TOT then RNRC. But honestly I don't think you'll have much wait for either regardless of the order. Vast majority of the RD crowd will be in TSL.

Normally I would suggest RnRC first. However with only 1 side working at ToT, would probably do that first.
Most of the crowd will be headed to TSL at RD. So you probably could do either first and not have a bad line on both.

Thanks for the replies everybody. I’ll plan on doing ToT first, unless the crowds heading to each attraction on the actual day look like it would be better to do it the other way round. ToT will be a lovely start to the day for my six year old! Ha! Ha!

Ohhh has the 6 year old done it before? When we went to California Adventure for the first time my son was about that age. TOT was his first ride and it scarred him for life! He’s 12 now and still won’t ride it! :scared:

TOT! rock n roller has single rider...use it! Often its as fast as a FP. Not always but if you do TOT at rope drop...there wont be much of a wit in single rider for R&R

Ha! Ha! No, we’ve only been once before in 2016 when she was three, so she wasn’t tall enough. My then five year old absolutely loved it though - She rode it three times!

We’ve got two young kids, so Single Rider isn’t really an option unfortunately. I’m banking on having done both rides, and being down at Star Tours before 9:00am when the regular opening crowd is let through. Hopefully the rest of our day should run fine after that, but the crowds will be high due to it being Memorial Day weekend.

If you are arriving before opening on an EMH morning, it really won't matter. You will be able to do both in either order with extremely low wait.

Is the initial RopeDrop crowd generally a lot less on an EMH morning vs non-EMH? Would be great if that’s the case, as we’re planning on RD’ing each park once while we’re there.

It's gonna be a lot less on an EMH morning 90% of the time. Not only is it earlier, but it's limited as to who can gain entry at that time.

That’s what I would have naturally thought, but I wasn’t sure how much of a draw it usually is for on-site guests, particularly now that the Disney Springs hotels are eligible.
Can guarantee that the 10% that it’s just as busy will be on our HS day though! lol

Another vote for single rider line. I did the ride 3 times in half an hour at rope drop. I had a FP for ToT and did that after.
