If you could only do one, which race would you pick and why? I was thinking, dreaming, that maybe I could plan ahead for one of these races. I'll have a FL Seasonal Pass so both dates will work I think. Now all I need to do is talk DH into letting me go without the family (that is actually the easy part) and then talk my girlfriend into going with me (a little harder to plan ahead because of her work schedule.) :)

I've done the ToT and loved it (but I think I am one of the few). The medal is awesome, but last year there were some logistical problems, which hopefully will be ironed out this year (really dark and kind of disorganized package pickup, parking snafu that resulted in the race starting late, and -- many felt -- too little time at the after party). None of these bothered me too much -- they were trying to theme the package pickup (so I give them points for creativity!) and I am not really a night person, so after run/walking the race, I was ready to hit the hay. And like I said -- AWESOME medal and fun for me to try night racing. You can also work in side trips to the Halloween party (and Food and Wine Festivities, I think) on race weekend. It's a great time to go.

I expect the Everest Challenge would be just as much fun for me. It sounds like they are trying to make the "obstacles" fun and I like the idea of a scavanger hunt. And I always love being one of the first folks to get a medal -- there's just something about an inaugural race that is very special.

You should make the best decision for YOU, but if I had to choose, I'd probably go with the Everest Challenge just because it was the first -- and you can't do the inaugural anything but once. Sadly, I won't be joining you at either race because I'm blowing my race budget this year traveling to Disneyland to get that "special medal" everyone is talking about.

Whatever your decison, I hope it works out well for you. Sounds like you have two great options to pick from.

We just registered for the ToT today. We did it last year and it was wonderfull. Of course when we get to be with the awesome folks in the bright WISH shirts any day is a memory to cherish.

We are choosing the ToT because there will be more WISHers there. It's a party not to miss. Oh yeah and there is a little 8 mile adventure involved also.

Thank you for the replies. I just remembered that my friend hurt her knee so I don't think she'd be up for the 13K. The EE is only a 5K so that would probably be her better choice. I e-mailed her about it and she's already telling me to book a room! :cool1: Now I guess I have to go to the Codes board and see if any codes are out yet!

Holy mackeral - I just saw the price for EE is $195 per team!! I guess you make up for it with the discounted rooms, but still, that's SO much money. And the after party isn't even included!:sad1:

The after race party is included for runners. Your friends and family just have to pay if they don't run the race.
