Toss Petal Questions

I'm considering having petal cones or pouches for the staged exit because I love how the pictures look. I know the Disney floral petals are kind of expensive, so I've been looking at other places that do freeze-dried petals.

My big questions is: We're having 25 guests for the wedding. What amount (cups?) of petals should I have per person?

TIA!

FlyBoyNaturals.com says:

Wedding Toss:

  • 1/2 cup per guest if using cones or sachets
  • 1 cup per guest if using a basket for guest to help themselves

And I think you can shave a guest or three off your total and still have enough.

Thank you Carrie! You just saved me a whole lot of stress and math. :goodvibes

I just wanted to share, I purchased freeze dried petals from flyboy naturals, they looked great when I got them, I had no problems with them whatsoever. My problem was actually Disney. They did not allow me to use the petals. They said they had to be fresh petals for environmental reasons. Now I have a whole box of unused freeze dried petals. I know other brides have used them, so it might depend on who your planner is, but I'd definitely check before buying them.

Thanks Julia. That really sucks because I know there were just brides in the last few months that used the petals from flyboys. I wonder if they just changed it recently and forgot to mention it. I will have to ask my planner when I get to that point.

This might be one of those issues it's worth pressing. Freeze-dried petals ARE natural petals, so I'm not sure what the problem would be. There is nothing chemical on them and they are not preserved in any way other than freezing!

Here's a step-by-step breakdown of the process. No chemicals!
