Anyone in the Toronto area, there is a new 1/2 marathon geared towards women, it is a 1/2 but I believe there is a 5K as well.

Best Part.......as well as the Bling of course, Fire Fighters water station and chocolate chip cookies at the 19K mark.

Check it out if interested

I read about this the other day and I think I'm definitely in! $40 is definitely reasonable and it's so close to my house. And who can say no to chocolate chip cookies :)

I was kinda looking forward to the fire fighters:lmao:

I have sent a email to the organizers for course limits as I couldn't find it on the website

Hmmm... fire fighters water station. :cool1: :lovestruc :rolleyes1 :cheer2: I may need to consider this one! :woohoo:

Can you tell I'm a sugar-addict .. I completely missed that part!! But you know if they're on the course, I'd probably want to stand around and gawk.

I guess I'll be asking friends of the family if I can crash there (they gave me a great tour of EVERY Asian Mall in the area last time I was there - and I only saw the tower thingy from several blocks away. I bet if I got to visit it I would know its name now)

I found out the course limits and it is 3 and a 1/2 hours. I am definatley signing up.

Tower thingy is the CN Tower, it is nice at night when they light it up. You have to visit it on a clear day to get the entire effect. It also now has a glass floor and a glass floor in the elevator.

Count us in! Only an 8 hour drive for us and we've never been to Toronto so will be looking for assistance from Tour Guide Kim. :goodvibes

Glass floors - well that may keep DH from going up there....

Cool..............YIPEEEEEEE

Registration is capped at 1000 so register early!!!!!!

I've heard that it's actually cheaper to go up to the restaurant for dinner or drinks than it is to purchase tickets for the elevator ride up. I think tickets are $25+/person.

I haven't eatten at the CN Tower since my first wedding anniversary back in 1988:scared1: would definatley like to go up there for drinks

I was pretty upset about not seeing the Tower. It was my first time in Toronto, but I didn't get to see anything except for Asian malls. At least on our drive back we stopped at Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls is nice, there is great shopping at the Eaton Center.

I really don't find Toronto much of a touristy city. Depending on your interests, of course you have to go up the CN Tower even just once. There is the hockey hall of fame but you have to be a hockey fan for that to be of any interest. There is also the ROM, I think that stands for the Royal Ontario Museum....but don't quote me on that....I have only ever been there once and that was only about 5 years ago.....:confused3 . There is also some sports venues, not sure if the Jays are in town that weekend but there is always the Skydome, for a baseball game.

Between Vicky and I we can definatley find enough stuff for all our friends coming from outside of Toronto to do.:goodvibes

Laurie, You just gave me more incentive to sign up for this. I need to check the schedule, but visiting every MLB park is on my life time to-do list. I am a hockey fan too. I haven't watched it that much in recent years because DBF is more of a basketball and football fan. I have to make more time for it this year.

Just checked. I don't know if the schedule is final yet, but they are playing the Red Sux that weekend.

Do you mean me??? My name is Kim;)

Skydome....actually sorry now it is called the Rogers Center. It is a really nice place to watch a ball game.

Hockey hall of fame is only about a 10 - 15 min walk from the Dome and the CN Tower is right beside the dome so everything is pretty close

Wow, now that will be good, we may have to get tickets ahead of time if we want to sit close but if the nose bleeds are good for everyone they are usually $9 each and we can get walk ups no problem.

Doh! I checked on the Super Goofs page. I must have looked at the wrong line. Sorry Kim!

Nope! Hockeygirl is Laurie on the Super goofs team. Just having a mental block today!
