Toronto Disney Store closing

For somebody like me who can't drive Eaton Centrre was the only one I could get too. Now I won't be able to get to a DS unless I eg for a ride to Square One. Atleast they are going to just reno it and open it again which it really does need anyways.

Thats really sad, it was the first one to open in Canada. I do hope it reopens.

When we would visit Toronto, we always made a stop at the Disney Store.

Guess we won't have to make a stop at the Eaton Centre anymore!

Sure hope it re-opens...

Last year it was also on the 26th of December that they closed the Square One DS in Mississauga. It later reopened in April.
I was there and the deals were UNBELIEVABLE.
Ariel costumes, down from 40.00 to 7.00.
Mickey cell phones from 1.00 down from 5.62 and so on.
Small plush toys for 1.99.
Princess dolls for 5.00.
I hope it will be the same this year although the crowds will probably be much worse.
I might plan a trip there if the weather is not too too bad.

Anyone been lately I can't make it boxing day cause of Hallmark Shopping, any decent deals? Any Animator Dolls left?. I wanna go down and visit one last time cause I used to work there and will be sad to see the original store go.

I was hoping for one last visit yesterday. The store was closed.

There's a Disney store in Barrie too .. Georgian Mall.

Quite frankly, I haven't bought anything in a Canadian Disney store in ages. I'm not really happy with what's in them....

Omg! Just went today with our 3 year old and it's gone replaced with a boring shop. No need to go to Toronto anymore- Disney store was my favorite place to visit there. Big book store is just a chapters now, no Tower records. HMV shrunk. Blah! Limeridge mall is close- but that may close being the old format! So disappointed today!!

Well the Eaton Centre store may be on from this article on Inside the magic it looks like Scarborough town centre will be getting a Disney store back

I am told it's going to reopen in a year or so in a better location in the Eaton Centre :confused3

I was going to go to the Eaton Center tomorrow for a few things and the Disney store ever since they closed the one that was at the Town Center :( Then I find its gone too :( Its WAY to far to bus it to the other ones I guess Ill have to wait until im IN disney :))

Hello,

I live in Montreal and the closest Disney Store to me is about 4-5 hours away in the States so i do my orders via the website. YES the shipping is expensive but i was glad to see, on my recent order, that there is no more brokerage fees when you receive your package so thats good news. The shipping was $50 for a huge box with 8 big stuffed animals and i found a coupon code on the net for a $50 discount so not too bad afterall. I hope your downtown location will re-open soon but in the mean time, theirs always the website for those "urgent" disney purchases!!! ;P

Please share the coupon code! :worship: There's a bunch of stuff I would love to purchase, and would with that kind of discount.

You can also call one of the GTA stores and have items shilled to Montreal, saves on shipping, but the selection is not the same as on-line so you have to be open to substitutions sometimes...

Well it's technically closer but eww STC is a horrible mall.

What's so bad about it? I personally think the Eaton centre is going down hill the current management seam to have no clue what they are doing. They close one of the busiest McDonald's in Toronto, renovate the food court into some totally confusing concept no one gets. a lot of the food locations there don't seam to get much traffic as people don't want what is there or want something they are familiar with. And then there is there biggest mistake no Santa clause in the mall instead they had people make appointments to talk to him on Skype.

I think the Eaton Centre is trying to go more 'upscale' with renters, so they're likely forcing some clients out. Not sure how it will go...
