My DH opened an envelope that contained a check in it. Not knowing that there was a check inside, he tore the top of the envelope carelessly. He tore a piece of the check that contains part of the name of the company. Do you think the bank would cash it if the piece is taped back on or do we have to have it replaced? It's not chump change - it's for a little over $400 from his stock plan at work.

they should take it ust take them both peices and maybe even the envelope if you still have it and explain what happened.
My guess is theyll take it! :)

Good luck@!

I think you'll be fine. Just sign the check where you can and deposit it using a teller and not the ATM.

Just as long as you supply the full check; you should be OK. Is the encoding on the bottom of the intact.
