We have ADRs at Kona's Cafe next month at 8:15pm. MK fireworks start at 9:00. It appears we will miss the fireworks by keeping the ADRs.

Should we:

Cancel the ADRs and merely get a CS meal in MK so we can watch fireworks?

or

Keep the ADRs at Kona's because their dinner is worth missing the fireworks?

or

Keep looking to see if another TS restaurant will open up in MK that night?

Bear in mind, we will have 9 in our party including 80 yr old grandma who will be riding a ECV, and a toddler in a stroller. (How much more complicated can we make this?!)

Your thoughts and opinions are much appreciated.

If you have never seen the fireworks, I would skip the ADR and get CS if no other TS opens up. We've seen the fireworks many times and don't mind missing them occasionally. When we do watch them, we usually go sit behind the castle. You would miss out on the view of the fireworks with the castle in the forefront, but there are far fewer people there and we try to avoid the chaos that parade and fireworks crowds can bring to Main Street. If you can get your ADR earlier at Kona, I believe you can still see the fireworks from the beach at Poly (again without seeing the castle in the forefront). I'm just not sure you would need to go to view them since things have changed once the bungalows over the water were built.

Personally, I don't think Kona is special enough to miss Wishes for, especially if it's your only opportunity to see Wishes. That being said, QS with 9 people is tough logistically. So my first option would be to try and get an earlier ADR somewhere that will allow you enough time to finish and stake out a spot for the fireworks. If you can't, another option might be to do QS at Poly and grab a spot on the Poly beach for fireworks afterward. It would be less chaotic and still give you a chance to check out the Poly.

I agree. Kona isn't that special (it's is quite good though). If you can arrange to see Wishes on a different night, then you could keep it, but I'd probably just stay in park that close to showtime.

Kona cafe is nice but not worth missing the fireworks for if its your only chance to see them.

DITTO. Keep in mind that you will need to stake out a spot for the fireworks AT LEAST 60 minutes in advance.
