Torn about whether to add a celebration

We are traveling in December I feel like I want to add our 22 wedding anniversary because I think it's nice when people nowadays are married for a long time. I just feel guilty because our actual anniversary was in April. We never say we are celebrating birthdays unless we go in the actual month of one of our birthdays but what do you think of adding the anniversary celebration?

It's really a personal decision. CM couldn't care less if it's your actual anniversary/birthday when you wear the buttons. I know that I wouldn't find it odd or rude to wear it, if you are not coming in April you can celebrate it whenever you come

I think a big anniversary like that deserves a year long celebration! Wear the buttons and enjoy your vacation.

If you want to celebrate, then do so.

We were supposed to celebrate our 15th in July on a cruise (but ended up not doing so), even though our anniversary isn't until November - we just couldn't cruise in November. We also celebrated our 10th in April of that year because we had gone to New Orleans on our honeymoon, and there was an event in April of that year that we wanted to do, so that's when we celebrated. Our gift to ourselves is usually travel or an extravagant meal. We just might celebrated our 16th while in WDW next September.

Hey, I say celebrate it whenever you can! I know too many couples that haven't made it past the 5-10 yr. mark, if that, - very sad - our dd being one, twice times!

We've only celebrated ours twice at Disney - on the day once, but not on the exact month the second time (but when we could go). We'll have our 50th next year and it's a 'year' long celebration with no hint of an excuse! LOL

I wouldn't do it. It is not like you are a few days off. 8 months off makes it sound like you are just looking for some free goodies or something.

Congratulations to you. That is beautiful. My parents just celebrated their 50th! So proud of them...and you. We will tell them it is our anniversary. I was recalling how the kids got so into that when we went last time for our 20th and everyone kept telling us congratulations. It is something to be honored. We honeymooned at Disney back in 94 so all the more reason to celebrate our marriage there! Thank you everyone for your opinions and advice!

We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary at WDW next week. Our actual anniversary was in early August. Both our jobs were on vacation black out and we were moving, so this trip was always planned for a few months late.

I had no qualms about telling a phone CM who asked if we were celebrating anything.

We are bringing the kiddo, so the only real anniversary celebration type part of the trip is dinner for two at a signature dining restaurant one night while my DS goes to a kid's club.
